I recently had to start taking antibiotics....again. And i am on bc pills. And I know that it causes the pills to lose effectivness. And my husband and I are married so we don't use condoms. I hate that he has to "suffer" because I am taking antibiotics but there really isn't any other safe way. My question is this: How long after taking the antibiotics do we have to use condoms for? A while back I had asked a NP at my ob/gyn office and she told me 1 full pack after, which at that time meant about 1 1/2 months of condom usage. And for those of you who go bare back, and suddenly have to cover the hose, you know it changes they way things feel and stuff. So I'd like to (and my hubby of course) get back to "basic" as soon as possible. But we aren't ready for kids yet so condoms now are a must.
According to your avatar, you've been ready for pregnancy
for quite some time now. In fact, it seems to pop soon
Other than that: better safe than sorry!

Now what does that mean?
I have been thinking about it more lately but hubby isn't ready and that would not be very nice to go ahead and get pregnant on him.
That's three of us now seeing the same thing.

Bella - I haven't been able to find anything to suggest you'd want to shorten the time period the n.p. gave you.
<I don't get the "suffer" thing. Condoms can be a LOT of fun>
Bella, no one ever is ready. I'm almost certain that 90 % of pregnancies weren't planned, and nevertheless
a welcoming surprise.

I don't particularly like them as they cause problems down under 9 times out of 10. Nothing like wee beasties of a yeast infection. And combined with antibiotics which tend to give me them as well.....I am almost guaranteed a rotten infection. Why? I have no idea.

Yeah I know but him being 2 years younger than me, he isn't to that place yet. We are planning on next year.
about a month.
the antibiotics effect the CURRENT cycle.
So approx 30 days later, you will be back to normal.

Nah, she's right. She should wait until hubby's ready.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Just kidding!
If he's committed to having a child next year, he's ready enough.
Have you considered (ahem) alternative ways to express your love for the next month to 6 weeks?
What do you normally do when your "Aunt Flo" comes to visit?

I start my period in about 3 days. I will be done with the meds in about a week. So, after my next period we can go back to normal?

Well, yeah but what fun is it for me if he gets the fun all the time?
