Why was it only addressed to the white employees?
Whites are less likely to be racist than blacks.
Two things...
In my industry "software engineer" most of the people are either White or Asian males. I have never seen White people face racism, and Asians often face reverse stereotypes, people assume they are smart because they are Asian.
1. I don't believe that White people need any protection from racism because we are assumed to be intelligent and capable.
2. I believe that we should be honest where the problems are. It is a African-American engineers (that is my profession) that face the strongest racism. Women face stereotypes, but this is a different problem.
3. That being said....
A good anti-racism training for an engineering company will be equal. It will establish a set of guidelines that apply to everyone, but then be honest about where the problems are (white people are not being held back in their careers because of their race... and the statistics show this).
My company has anti-discrimination training which I have taken. Some of it is a little goofy. Overall I think it is somewhat good. Nothing offended me.
It is important for my company to tell me exactly what the rules are. Then I can follow them.
