Why are African Americans more likely to have high blood pressure and diabetes than whites?

I read African Americans are more likely than whites to have hypertension or diabetes. Why? I expect accurate answer.

I think it is very and very personal. People (white, black, orientals...) can have problems with health, but it's not something that they will have.
Like if I say that a friend of mine is black, he is fat and have diabetes, that doesn't mean that you, black, you will have the same.
White people also have a lot of problems, but of course there are perfectly healthy people. All depends first of all from the diet, and then from your health problems (or genetic problem).
