Lash rarely if ever plucks a statement out of context and twists it into something unsaid and unintended as some do here. I think she has a good claim on this kitchen.
Crediting Giuliani with cutting crime in NYC ignores the fact that crime rates were down during that period in most big cities. That didn't prevent him from trumpeting his success, of course. He does deserve credit for trampling all over people's rights in the name of fighting crime.

Politicians are notorious for claiming credit for all the good stuff even though they've done practically nothing to earn it, but when it comes to all the bad stuff which they are actually responsible for, they'll refute every one of them - or change the story.
