@edgarblythe,
Does this mean you want to bomb the US in retaliation for the Oklahoma City bombing since Timothy McVeigh was an American?

I notice you conveniently left out mention of Saudi Arabia when telling us why we are in Afghanistan.

Saudi Arabia was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

In fact, the group that is responsible for 9/11 seeks the destruction of the Saudi government just as much as they seek the destruction of the US government.

@oralloy,
McVeigh was a traitor, he gave up his right to be an American. He's where he needs to be.

And who butchered Khashoggi??? Here's a hint, it wasn't the Turks...Remember when Lindsey Graham exited a briefing that he claimed disgusted him and heads would roll? Yeah that didn't happen either, it was OBE. Hypocrites.

@oralloy,
Oralloy is correct.

Osama Bin Ladin was opposed to the government of Saudi Arabia. Saying that Saudi Arabia was responsible for 9/11 is ridiculous.

Can someone explain this to me again....

What is the difference between men and women that justifies the belief that women shouldn't be drafted and that men should?

Would someone please acknowledge that the draft has been suspended since the 70's....during which time the entire Congress was almost entirely male..those legislators didn't want to draft women......If or when the draft is re-established, it's unclear if women will be exempt ...... since there is already a large number of women serving in the Armed Forces..I don't think women will be exempt (unless they are declared 4F). Anybody remember the draft categories???? I didn't think so.

@glitterbag,
1. After Vietnam the American military has been an all volunteer force. Even with the wars America has fought in since Vietnam, it has remain an all volunteer force.

2. I could be wrong, but I don't foresee the draft being re-instituted no time in the foreseeable future. If I am wrong and the draft were to be re-instituted, I really don't think the American government would pass any law that would force women into the military against their will. I could be wrong. I just don't see that happening. I don't see the draft being re-instituted for men either.

3. The all volunteer force has been fighting wars for decades without instituting the draft.

4. Of course I could be wrong and that could all change. We could reach a breaking point.

@Real Music,
I agree that the draft is not coming back.

But if it does come back, women will need to be drafted too.

As has been pointed out by many sources, the US spends more on defense than the next 10 countries combined so I would assume it would be a quick and dirty war. US, Israeli and Saudi forces would quickly strike and wipe all radar, anti-aircraft batteries, aircraft and munition factories in a matter of hours. We would then go to the table and negotiate while the people of Iran decided the next move.
There would be no nation building after.

BERNIE SANDERS AND RO KHANNA RESUBMIT LEGISLATION BLOCKING FUNDING FOR WAR WITH IRAN THAT PREVIOUSLY PASSED THE HOUSE

POLITICS BERNIE SANDERS IRAN WAR LEGISLATION
Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders and California Democratic Representative Ro Khanna reintroduced legislation on Friday designed to block federal funding for a war with Iran.

Khanna's amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was mentioned in a tweet by Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who suggested resurrecting the legislation as a "standalone bill."

"Reintroduce & vote on @RepRoKhanna's bipartisan NDAA amendment, which blocks $ offensive action to Iran," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. "This amendment passed the House w/bipartisan support not long ago, and was later gutted in negotiations. We can bring it back as a standalone bill."

There will be no draft so long as an endless stream of needy poor can feed the ranks. This keeps the rest of society removed from the process and emotionally no more involved than a fan at a baseball game. That's a huge part of the reason the bastards get away with endlessly hammering the planet with needless wars.

Soleimani commanded the Quds Force, the branch of the Revolutionary Guards responsible for operations abroad, from sabotage and terror strikes to supplying militias that operated as Iran’s proxy forces.
Do you really think, his death made the Revolutionary Guards stop 'working'?
