Hi

I've seen dead presidents, children and celebs- What is this called and how to I raise awareness about this?

My husband and I call it psuedo-celebrity spotting.

@TooFriendly112,
1. I assume doctors call it audible and visual hallucinations. Seriously, go to them NOW. You might be having some serious untreated medical issues that need attending NOW.

2. Either that... you've been watching decades' old movies or documentaries. Than keep watching. And for future reference? Just give us some bloody context. If this isn't the case? Please reread point no. 1.

@TooFriendly112,
Its not unusual to think you see someone who appears to look exactly like someone who has died. Especially if you had an emotional attachment to the deceased. After my husband died I saw a man who looked just like him. Freaked me out. Even today, 10 years later, I will see men who have the same features or body language. It’s a part of the grieving process.

Are you mourning someone?

On another note, my son has been called the twin of a famous actor. Years ago I flew into LaGuardia airport and thought all the female airport workers were Jennifer Lopez clones.

@PUNKEY,
Hi

Hey, maybe you would find the series entourage interesting. But much of our lives are our profession and virtue, not just living in the suburbs. It's pretty interesting and a lot of books written, and are being written - right now!. That's a good start! If we could take our meds, eat vegetables and read books that would be good. But like you write, and also you are very mature. Thanks!

When my brother in law died, we kept seeing his lookalikes all over the place. We would call them Zombie Johns.

He was called John.

When I was young and left this state for extended periods of time, living, working, hitchhiking, each time I hitched homeward, I began mistaking stranger after stranger for family and acquaintances. At first, I was mystified. Once I understood the phenomenon, I still sometimes saw these things but knew better than to fall for them.

@edgarblythe,
I experienced this when I was discharged — I remember getting off the bus in NYC and recognizing old friends in the crowd. It lasted for a few weeks. I'll bet it's connected to belief in ghosts. Our minds seem programmed to scan faces and find recognizable features and patterns.

@hightor,
I suppose it happens more frequently than I ever guessed.
