"conceit" is better than "construct" I should have thought.

What do you mean, 'You don't really think they are the same.'

We might just be one and the same, sharing a lap top even, working out our strategy to confuse you. How amusing. We might have alternative motives behind our charade, who can tell. We might be brother's, father and son even, that right Dad? We could just be two totally different Englishmen, who do not really get along too well. This could be a thesis, fool the members of A2k. Don't give up that easy, I rather like this now.
When my Dad Spendius gets back from his pub, (drunk) he might just spill the beans.

Mathos tends toward the masochistic.

Spendius tends toward the self-effacing poet who might be starting to experiment with sadism (emotional only, probably not physical).

Mathos is a middle-aged country squire. Somewhat self-satisfied and smug, with a healthy disdain for Spendius. However his imagination is either toned down or just not of the same firepower as Spendius's. Its like Mathos was once fairly sharp, but may have spent too many years at a mind-numbing desk job. This has helped him garden a quite reserved British form of masochism. Mathos is a nice calm monotone gray black acid. Beautiful in its own way, but monotone. Like a gray rock wall.

Spendius is a decent student of the classics, and is capable of moments of clarity and communicating with a fairly damn good muse. On the other hand he has a weakness for the alcohol, as so many writers do. It remains to be seen if this achille's heel will do in his skill for the written word, or if he'll be able to tame the beast and harness its power. Spendius's acid is also dark, but instead of grays and black such as Mathos, Spendius is sometimes able to display dark rainbow colors.

Does that clear it up a bit?

Oh yes, one more thing.

Mathos rarely if ever acknowledges a female. I don't know if he hates them, disregards them, or perhaps he's a bit repressed gay, who the hell knows.

Spendius at least pretends he likes some females. I'm not positive on the meaning of that pretense though, either.

Spendius will suffer the female a bit more than Mathos. Mathos basically seems to tell them to piss off in not so many words.

Nice.

I'd warrant Mathos has it easier in the mornings, when he is gazing at the backbone of England from his king size bed. But his day goes downhill from there. Spendius has it easier at night. When the pints are flowing freely.

Just my humble opinion--all of the above is actually.

Take it with a wink, a grain of salt, and a strong bottle of wine by a pristine rural river.

E.M.

0.36 CJT.

"Self-effacing".Gee-that would tickle the barmaids.

I don't know whether a long stint at a desk numbs minds or not but it is one of a range of possible explanations.

You have shot the zoomer up to clang against the donger on the muse thing though. One does so need a muse. They are lovely little darlings underneath.spendius simply adores Ladies who are worthy of adoration. He thinks the others are on the wrong bus.

Hey, S & CJ at the same time again! Glory!

2.08 HST.

Hey Spendius, is it okay to ask guys if they like females in a British pub? In USA you probably wouldn't ask such a thing in most cities. Hawaii is fairly gay friendly, so the question might be asked.

Perhaps there should be a thread where everyone votes: I am homosexual, or I am heterosexual. You only get one vote.

CJ, do you prefer men for your relationships, or...?

Growing up in the San Francisco and LA areas, I've been hit on by many gays, but never had that sort of experience.

And you, Mathos? Please don't be offended, just asking a question in the pub sir: Do you happen to be bisexual Mathos?

Spendius, CJ defended the honor of your heterosexuality. I think you owe her...

Well, and do either of them know I am a female, whether or not I caught the wrong bus again? That was tremendously clarifying, Extram, vivifying really; however true your words may be, I enjoyed them.
