WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney will not run for the presidency in 2008, his wife, Lynne Cheney said in an interview published on Sunday.

Cheney told Time magazine that she was restating what her husband already had made clear -- that he had no intention of seeking the presidency.

"That's pretty interesting. Wrong, but interesting," Lynne Cheney said, when asked about a recent comment by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward that the vice president would be the Republican presidential nominee in 2008.

Interesting day ...

It's announced Cheney won't run for President and sources close to the investigation say Fitzgerald is also examining Cheney's role in the outing of Plame.

It must only be a coincidence.

Dang, You beat me to it Beth.

As for the cane, maybe it is in the grand tradition of the Senate when they used to hit each other. The expletives on the floor aren't enough anymore.

well ya know, cheney did have stents put in on both legs. so gettin' around would still be a little iffy.

but then, it could be a simple affectation. sort of like how the band's manager carried the cricket bat around in "spinal tap".

I'd forgotten about the possible implication of those stents. Thanks, DTOM.

That's all right ehBeth. Not to worry 'cause George approved of everything he did and he won't be charged with nothing. All's right with the world. Rolling Eyes
