An Alitalia jet en route from Milan to Boston was diverted to Maine on Tuesday because the name of a passenger on board matched that of a person on the U.S. government's no-fly list, officials said.
That flight continued to Boston less than two hours later after the passenger of interest was detained by federal immigration officials, along with three of his family members. The four were later released and allowed to continue their trip after officials determined the man was not the one on the no-fly list.
I cannot imagine what this guy must go through any time he tries to travel.
yeah I went through the same thing on our trip to euro a few weeks ago, my name turned up on the airline computer from the no-fly list. took only a few minutes for the airline to get a go for me.
You were lucky. Imagine the embarassment as they re-route your plane and federal agents escort you out along with your family. It had to be pretty scary for any children.
