The only thing that's fast in me is the way the money gets transferred to other people's pockets. LOL

I must admit that I just could have done it only a little bit faster (all measured with the car's speedometer): it's only a small car (an Opel Astra, a Diesel), which does officially 210 km/h, and which I got up to 240 km/h (end of scales).

Nice new avatar, Walther, historic.

Do I see darauf die Wappen of Westphalia?

What did Walther von der Vogelweide say, in translation?

The high German (translated from the Middle High German) version is:
Ich saß auf einem Stein, hatte Bein über Bein geschlagen, den Ellbogen drauf gestützt, in die Hand schmiegte ich Kinn und Wange.

My seat I had upon a stone,
With one leg o'er its fellow thrown:
My elbow thereupon I rested,
And in my hand secure had nested
My chin, and of my cheeks, the one.

Walter, I know you were watching the road as we zipped at 200kph, but my blood drained from my head, and my knees were knocking against the front panal of your car....it was like being back in my youth riding one of those amusement park rides. But I had a big grin on my face.

We did - and our driving was frequently broadcasted in the traffic news: PAY ATTENTION - ACHTUNG - there's a blue Astra driving against the traffic on the A 3 ....

Right, but there were really huge amounts of cars coming towards us Laughing

No, honestly, a bit about 200 was only possible on shorter passage: either speedlimits or too much traffic.

Nah! Ghost rider would come close though.

Since I don't drive German Autobahns very often, I have
to say that most entrances to the Autobahn are very
confusing and a mishap in the wrong direction can happen
easily.

The other thing I don't like: the exits are so far inbetween,
one can drive 10 or 20 km before the next exit comes along.

Calamity

I dont find them confusing at all. Very logical in fact. Even the road signs are int eh right language.

And I'm used to driving the wrong way upside down in reverse and back to front.

Steve, compared to the English traffic signs and driving knowledge, you are probably right Mr. Green
