@Frank Apisa,
Actually Frank things have changed. These anti-IDers were all cock-a-hoop and lambasting the devout when you were last here.

Now they skulk in burrows with a sign on the entrance reading IGNORE. Their confidence has evaporated since they started arguing with me,

@farmerman,
I suspect that voters in Chester and Bucks counties were also motivated by the thought of the cost to the Dover school board which arose from the litigation. Do you have any information on what it cost Dover?

@Setanta,
Dover made a profit Set. It is a question of who got it.

@Setanta,
That was part of their opponents campaigns in each case.
The direct legal costs and judgements were about 2 millions , and in 2007, all parties settled for 1,000,011.00$. The ACLU brokered the settlement with the courts approval and everybody went home sorta happy.

HOWSOMEVER-The Montana Law Review published a legal analysis of how the case was bogus and the IDers rolled over. (SOmeone in Montana was also playing the "master of the obvious", since the Discovery Institute announced that it was pulling out in a ******* news conference while the case was going on).

I have no idea about the eleven bucks , Ill bet theres a story to entertain us all with that one.

@spendius,
Spendius, my guess is that it's their tolerance, rather than their confidence, that has evaporated?
One major change, Frank, is that I've lost interest in debates about religion.

How come, JL?

Isn't it an inexhaustible well of laughter and merriment?

@JLNobody,
Well JLN-- you can win by exhausting tolerance. It never works though on the confident. I'm confident. They'll never exhaust my tolerance if only for the reason Francis gives.

Watching pompous blown-up scientific methodologists (sic) who think they have found the Holy Grail in mechanical operations of living matter really is quite funny. Especially given their views on personal matters and their obvious inability to "read" my posts.

Yeah, I’ve actually been gone, Edgar. (Actually, Edgar and I have been in touch in emails occasionally since I left"so he really knows I’ve been gone. He’s just joshin’.)

Wow. JL--you no longer debate in the religion section!!!

There are indeed chances beyond this bewildering new format!

@Frank Apisa,
Frank-- if you navigate via "My posts" and occasionally "New posts" it works well enough.

If you have a special need to aggravate anybody just click on their name in the heading of any of their posts and you can keep up with other idiocies they have been promulgating.

It's a bit like going in a new pub when you move house.

@spendius,
Thanks Spendius. And thanks for the laugh also. You've got my number...as the "need to aggravate anybody" quip confirms.

I've been using the "My posts" and "New Posts." Seems like a lot less stuff here than way back when!

What I wouldn't give to spend a few hours in a London pub...or even better, in a Lincolnshire pub. I miss it very much.

@Frank Apisa,
Pubs are not what they were Frank. The feminists and the "your life in their hands" brigade have made a serious ******* mess of them.

I occasionally stop in myself these days. I hate it mind you but what can I do. Ladies object to pissing the family income against the wall when it could be used for a new hat or a visit to a salon to have the grey hairs tinted or a ******* holiday in the ******* sun.

You should see the curtains in my pub. Tart's knickers design. The days of "come on lads 'ave you no 'omes to go to" are long gone.

@spendius,
Even the barmaids have to wear high neckline uniforms and always of a drab colour. It's disgusting.

That seems to be the only things which could be rewarding about whatever method (if any) he's following. He certainly never seems to make a simple and straightforward claim and then speak about it, staying on-topic, like a half-reasonable guy. It's always a random useless literary reference to a penis or *alluding* to knowledge he has (without demonstrating it or actually using it to bolster his points, when they're identifiable that is).

I haven't read his replies to me yet, if there are any, but if it's the usuable rambling he'll have failed my little 'experiment', or whatever it was, and maybe we will get back on topic Wink.
