It's more like "god screwed up this planet." The evidence is quite clear to any human with brains.

Are earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, starvation, HIV/AID, part of his "grand" plan for this planet?

Whoa there, kimosabe; I'm still gonna make a whole bunch of mistakes. The administrators of a2k should have another step before "guru."

AIDsers are the only humans with brains c.i. The rest are ID-iots so you can't reasonably expect the evidence to be quite clear to them.

Waste of time quoting this sort of thing again wande. We know where they are coming from. How many times do you need to be told? City slickers who live by word manipulation.

You're running on the spot.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the evidence surrounding most humans on this planet; most are starving, suffering from "natural" disasters, and/or have HIV/AIDS. The evidence surrounds most humans.

Ofcoarse it's "ridiculous." God screwed up royally, and destroys both the good and bad at random. "God so loved the world..." rings hollow.

Report: Ohio teacher taught creationism
(Associated Press, June 20, 2008)

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - An outside investigation concludes that an Ohio public school teacher taught creationism in his science class and was insubordinate in failing to remove a Bible and other religious materials from his classroom.

The report also says Mount Vernon Middle School teacher John Freshwater used a device to burn the image of a cross on students' arms. One family filed a federal lawsuit against Freshwater and the school district last week, saying their child was left with a burn mark for three or four weeks.

The findings released Thursday by consulting firm H.R. On Call Inc. were to be discussed Friday afternoon at a special meeting of the Mount Vernon school board.

A message seeking comment was left for Freshwater's attorney, Roger Weaver.

It's a sting operation mounted to discredit religious people.

No Christian would engage in activities of that nature.

The matter should be being discussed in the Sheriff's office.

Do you always believe the surface appearences wande?

Or is it just when they reinforce your prejudices. Which explains why you search out those that do from the millions of other press releases which tumble down the stream every hour of the day and very few of which tell of such trifling incidents, for that is what they are I'm afraid, as they occur in the lives of thousand of devout Christians working in the far flung corners of the earth and bringing some relief to the most impoverished of human beings.

On to the scales of what arseholes Christians are you fling this trivial nincompoop imagining, I suppose, that we are all going to be outraged and start pulling the churches down.

We are not that bloody stupid wande even if you think we are.

spendi, Surface appearances are what most animals use to decipher what to make of it, especially if a decision must be made quickly. If there is no rush, then humans have the ability to study and investigate what the surface appearance really means, and arrive at pretty accurate conclusions.

If I observe during most of my life that nature, nurture, genes, and environment guides most of our individual lives, I can pretty much write off hokus pokus as the guiding instruments of our life, and ignore it.

Some people (humans) still want to believe in gods and poofism, but I find it a big waste of my time and energies.

We are not animals c.i.

Were we to be so then the kids whose arms were burned would have bitten that silly sod or run off.

Some people regard your activities as much worse than a mere waste of time.

Yes we are; you just haven't noticed - yet - that our biology is pretty much the same as all mammals.

You still haven't heard about humans eating themselves; that's a fact.

To each our own; you spend your time in the pub almost every day, but I love to travel and see the world.

"Pretty much" is not good enough on a science thread, It allows you to think you have said something you haven't said. It is the sort of thing which we have the expression "you are kidding yourself" for.

And you say I'm incoherent. Blimey!

An oddball activity in human terms. And your chance of "seeing the world" is negligible. Possibly less than that in the sense that your travels distract you from the world on your doorstep. You only have the same number of eyes that everybody else has. Are we not seeing the world all the time. Travel is an affectation. You've been persuaded. It's been sold to you like soap powder is.

And I'm in the pub for about 70 minutes every night socialising with neighbours and having a drink. You're off superficially socialising with strangers.

"Pretty much" is better than "god said." At least "pretty much" provides us lowly humans with something to grasp at. Hokus pokus provides nothing; it requires your imagination to play tricks to your brain - whatever is left of it.

You've not heard of "self cannibalism?" You're spending too much time at the pub.

spend, your 70-minutes each night at the pub has made your views myopic to a fault; you don't see the world around you. Friends are made over time; and some strangers become friends no better or worse than your friends at the local pub. I consider myself one of the lucky blokes on this planet; I have friends all over this world. You wouldn't understand any of this, but they have enriched my life as I hope I have enriched theirs.

I've met quite a few a2kers over the years, and many are now my friends. I feel very fortunate to have met these interesting, intelligent, fun-loving, friends.

As a matter of fact, I'm planning on organizing the Third San Francisco A2K Gathering next summer. I sincerely hope you can fore go the pub for a few days and join us. We'll show you some fine pubs here in San Francisco.
