I'm very sorry if I overestimated your wit.Your remark about Mr Cheyney ought to have alerted me to that possibility I suppose.

You once asked us to shoot Mr Murdoch.

I have been generously loaned a copy of The Assassination of Robert Maxwell by Gordon Thomas and Martin Dillon.I think you will like it.Pages 103 et seq concerning domestic bliss I found hilarious.I think they are a good test of one's sense of humour.

Why would a "celebrity's" effluvium be needed. Also "effluvium" is a rather illiberal choice of word. And no mention of the civil war.

I would be interested in your comments if you have the inclination.

Steve-

I'll try. But my bad habits will be hard to break when my trains of thought are running.

Are you enjoying the big match?

I do so love civilised people. They generally understand that lack of perfection is not something to be ashamed of.

You can score 169 in a key match and when your middle peg gets knocked out you are disgusted with yourself.

My "wit" is a crippled thing built of spare parts. Mary Shelley didn't know from soulless hollow, though Cheney will be familiar with the echoes here.

Re Murdoch...I don't think I wish to hear from you again on this subject until you have managed to shoot him. Aim for the Lovborg and mention my name.

The Alamo is totemic. Streisand's mensus is totemic. Fight fire with fire.

I'll see if I can find a copy of the Maxwell Massacree when I'm at the library next week.

Maybe she didn't. What woman does?

The autodidactor with whitewalls and electric windows,a starting handle and someone walking in front with a red flag. I'm not sure it is a good idea to distinguish between certain characteristics on the basis of celebrity. Are you "starstruck" yourself or at the medicine man game? One can easily stumble into mystical reveries with the former I have been told. And lose all your wits.

Steve-I cheated there. I edited the spaces in, at your special request, last.

I have a pdf file of a page of the old Abuzz thread entitled "Creationism and Darwinism Face Off in Kansas" from Jul 28, 2000 to Aug 23, 2000. The pdf file is of the size 465 kb (33 pages).

It must be of fun to read the past debates.
Does anyone here know a way to upload a pdf file on the web? Is there a good site to post a pdf file?

A sample of the first page is here..

If creationism wins in Kansas, all their students studying science in college better stay in Kansas. It would also be interesting to see how they compete for employment in other states and countries based on "creationism" education. LOL

I did not participate in the Abuzz debates on Kansas school board attitude of 2000, as I thought it was too obvious for me to join in the debate. I am strongly science oriented.

c.i., I didn't find your posts either on the pages of pdf files mentioned above.

I am resolved no longer to hold back from criticising bad or just plain wrong ideas because it leads to cricticism of religion or religious doctrine.

Am currently awaiting a response to this question...

any thoughts?

What kind of settlement could there be?

The judge in the Dover trial did set up a schedule for hearings. The first date would be September 26. Other dates have been scheduled throughout October. The judge even mentioned a date in November when he could issue an opinion. A settlement before September 26 also sounds very possible. I read on the Internet that even the Discovery Institute does not really want a court judgement on intelligent design.

That the Discovery Institute does not really want a court judgement on ID is not surprising. Their whole institute would crumble into a pile of dust.

or they would have to come up with yet another circle around the Supreme Cort Decisions.
However, lest we get too full of ourselves, the rumor mill has it that should 2 more Conservatives get on the Supreme Court , any new case, such as those that may be forwarded in Kansas, Missouri and New Mexico, could be more conveniently scheduled to be heard in front of a more"receptive" court.

Im gonna give Roberts the benefi of the doubt on this because he is not a bot.
wandel, are you looking at the ncse site?

farmerman,

I found a lot of information on the court's website. Formal opinions issued by the court are available to everyone free of charge. Other court documents require a PACER/ECF account. If you have such an account, you are billed about eight cents a page. A PACER/ECF account allows access to a greater variety of documents (there are over one hundred documents for the Kitzmiller case alone).

Lads ID is just an easy way out for not being able to describe things. For example if nobody can explain how say 15 proteins fit together in the fagella in an amoeba, then don't be jumping to the conclusion that it was the creator and that we will never know how it works. I am scared that it has become so strong in the states. I'm Irish and us Europeans just laugh at the 'dumb' fundementalist Americans getting their way. Look at the facts and make your own judgements. Does Bush believe in ID??

Bush made a statement recently that appears to endorse the teaching of ID. However, Bush's own science advisor has publicly stated that intelligent design theory is not science.
