"We Americans like meat and teeth and all that stuff that'll keep people crouched in defensive position."

Tartarin....that is a hugely wonderful sentence.

Please accept my apologies----I saw your location as being London----

BTW are you a graduate of that marvelous institute of technology created by Nehru way back which cranks all those scientific wonders who are mostly migrating to American because of lack of opportunity in India?

Oh, you're still a consummate jerk and everyone on the forum knows it, percy.

But there's just no point in reminding you, because you wallow in it.

To quote a certain former Vice President who spelled poorly also:

"I wear their scorn like a badge of honor!"

Would you like a nice hat to go with that brooch?

All you seem to be contributing to the discussion is invective----BTW when anyone resorts to criticism about spelling you lose.
Sorry just one the rules of the game.

Oh dear, perception out of focus again...

You can't have "one" anything if you can't master the language and can't back up what you claim, darling.

Thanks for playing. We have some nice parting gifts for you backstage...

How many husbands have you "scorned" to death? You seem to be very lonely and bitter----oh didn't know what you were doing---in the bottle perhaps?

Ahem.

Sidebar here. As a point of fact, Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, but the war was lost in South Carolina. I know, I know, that was new to me too.

pDiddie, I am surprised at your attack on perception. That was unwarranted and totally at odds with the spirit of this thread.

You say I haven't "mastered" the language----would you like me to
"dumb it down" so you can comprehend it?

I am not clamoring for peace. I hope for calm reasoned action, in league with other countries of the world. I would perfer non-violent action.

Then my comments do not go to you personally.

POSTWAR PLANS
Panel Faults Bush on War Costs and Risks
By PATRICK E. TYLER

he cost of postwar reconstruction of Iraq will be at least $20 billion a year and will require the long-term deployment of 75,000 to 200,000 troops to prevent widespread instability and violence against former members of Saddam Hussein's government, a panel of national security experts say in a new study.

Isn't it wonderful how a panel of "experts" can come up with the cost of something that has never been done before.

perception, I agree with you that it can't be done - accurately, but they only offer 'educated' guesstimates. As most of us are aware, nobody yet knows "exactly" how many troops and for how long we will occupy Iraq. Without the help of the international community, most of this cost will be shouldered by American taxpayers. With our economy in the dumps, and more people losing jobs every day, I wonder if Americans are gonna be able to pay for all this? Wink c.i.
