But this is real humor-
A friend's 10 year-old daughter once told me that her class was studying the presidential election and that she wanted Ronald Reagan to win. I said "Well, he must think he will make a good president or he wouldn't run."
She said "Well, why did Carter run?"
Hahaha. Yeah, I guess so. I'm picturing a snarling, red-eyed, snapping rabbit. I would've made tracks too.

If everything else hadn’t been going badly, the rabbit thing would’ve been a momentary joke that went away. Due to ‘malaise’, being humiliated by Iran, and the botched, delayed rescue attempt, attack by rabbit seemed like a metaphor for his presidency.
