That was (game 5 warriors/Mavs) one of the best NBA games I've ever seen, and I've seen a whole lot of 'em. Man oh man, they're bringin some FUN back to the pro game!! High drama! Whoo-weeee!
Any bets on how long it's going to take the Bulls to lose to the Pistons? I'm thinking 5, maybe 6.
I'm a Pistons/Suns/Mavs (in that order) man this year, but the Bulls look kind of scary to me - they have some serious momentum built up, and Deng is coming into his own..
I was very surprised that they got past Miami in four. I still don't see them beating Detroit -- not this year at least.

agreed...the announcers were ragging Nowitski and all of a sudden he woke up...great game
Hope not - but I'll be a'watchin'
I like the Detroit-Chicago match up. I hope it goes 7. It'd take the young Bulls really coming into their own, but it happens. And back in the day there was a young Bulls team that toppled an older, multi-championship Pistons team in their first title run. Granted, those Bulls had some bald guy -- what was his name?
Yeah, but it took them a couple years to do it which is what I meant by 'at least not this year'.
Mebbe, mebbe not.
(And as a adoptive Sconnie, I've got no affection for Chicago...)
Warriors, come out and pla-ee-ay...this is the game I've been waiting for all day. I don't even know who I want. I guess I'd like to see the Mavs win so there will be a game seven.
Time to get it on!
I'm sorry, I know this game isn't over by any stretch of the imagination, but I have to ask: Is there a bigger pussy in the league than Dirk Nowitski?
He really wimped out again. It's sort of his MO to punk out in the face of aggressive play.
Yeah -- for a while there I thought Will Perdue was back in the league.
Yeah, but at least Purdue had MJ. Nowitski is supposed to be the man for Dallas.
So I'm still intrigued by the Pistons-Bulls matchup. No doubt the Pistons look better on paper. The Billups v. Hinrich is a laugher, especially in the post-season, where Billups is king. Deng-Prince could be interesting. Prince has the experience edge, and he's also been a good playoff performer in the past -- but who the hell knows what Deng's learning curve is going to be like? And he's long -- Prince is used to being longer than the people he defends, but these are two lanky ass guys going against each other.
Wondering who Webber's going to guard when he's in. It makes more sense to put him on PJ Brown, I think -- he's too slow now to keep Ben Wallace off the boards. But that leaves Rasheed guarding Ben, which just doesn't seem right.
And then there's Gordon-Hamilton. V. different styles. I think Gordon's too strong for Hamilton to check (maybe Detroit puts prince on Gordon and Hamilton on the lankier Deng?), but having to chase Hamilton through all those double screens all night could wear Gordon out.
Detroit's got the clear edge off the bench because of McDyess -- who'll basically play starter's minutes, I'm guessing, with Webber sitting a lot with old age and foul trouble. And Delfino and Flip Murray can both fill it up a bit, if they get going.
But, damn it, I still think Chicago's got a shot -- and would also, as a King's fan, like to see Webber get the trip to the Finals that he should have got years ago.
And then there's San Antonio-Phoenix. Go Suns...
Yup - go Suns.
About Bulls/Detroit - Chicago won 3 of 4 of their regular season games against each other. I wouldn't normally think much of that; playoff intensity being a whole other thing, as it is - but Golden State had the Mavs number all season, too.
and look what theydid to 'em in the playoffs.
Like I said - Chicago doesn't stand a chance against Detroit.
Okay, - it's easy to bluster after the fact....
(well, see, now that I've put that up, the Bulls will win game 2 by 30...)
