Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) was the only non-Republican “no” vote.

The measure, which passed 93-7, also included full-year funding for the Departments of Labor, Education and Health and Human Services. No Democrat voted against the resolution (Bernie Sanders caucuses with Democrats and ran for president as a Democrat in 2016, but identifies as Independent.)

Military spending, which industry newsletter Inside Defense says is approximately $675 billion, makes up a whopping 79 percent of the $854 billion budget package.

I hope people remember this.

Independent.

The man had some nerve running as a candidate for a nomination in the Democratic Party. Not his party.

Cruz and O'Rourke are essentially tied. A local channel, explaining tonight's debate, phrased the issues prejudicially to Cruz to help guide one's thinking, for the simple minded. It is not going to be enough for O'Rourke to score debating points. O'Rourke has to fight off certain stereotypes to Texans' voting habits if he is to move ahead - all of them - because Cruz is going to throw the kitchen sink at him tonight. I cannot think of a single positive thing Cruz has ever done, but I hear relatives and acquaintances speak of him in near worshipful tones.

@ehBeth,
He is a Democrat in all but label and he uses that label for only Democratic causes. It is semantics and important only in the political sense that establishment Dems want to silence one of the few positives they even have these days.

@edgarblythe,
He uses the Democratic label only when it is of benefit to him. He is a politician before he is anything else.

I'd like the Democrats to completely cut him loose. I hope they have changed their rules so no more carpetbaggers can run for nomination in their party.

In a way it doesn't matter. New blood is taking over the party and he is being left behind naturally.

@ehBeth,
When you get the liberals out of Democratic politics you are left with only what can be labeled Republican Light.

Gee, that is pretty odd, isn't it, Beth? A politician/honest man who knows that there is zero chance of ever getting the honest, human, beneficial ideas he holds into the mainstream if he sticks with the labels ignorant Americans put on him.

So he seeks a place in a party that is supposed to contain some of those human qualities and you launch your servile, low as can be propaganda strike against him.

Liberals don't vote with the Republican party.

Independents can, and do.

@edgarblythe,
The newer/younger reps for the Democratic party are liberal - and clearly identifying themselves as Democrats.

The party is changing naturally, as it should.

@ehBeth,
Not the Sanders kind.

I didn't notice any outrage when Lieberman ran for VP.

Regular Democrats vote with the Republican party and there is always an excuse why it's okay.

You are right it is very natural for someone to deceive people to regain power while using the media to turn some groups "victimization" into a catastrophe that needs immediate attention or we will all die. That is no more than exploitation.

What is natural is wanting power and some people will do anything to get it. Violence is already being used, right now we see mob rule with Democrats in the thick of it. Democrats are turning into fascists and we have seen before, it is quite natural.

@edgarblythe,
Lieberman was always an off to the side sort of Democrat and there were plenty who were unhappy, irritated and full out angry when Gore tapped him as a running mate. Add to that, the gall of Lieberman, who also ran to hold his Senate seat that year. He lost the Democratic nod in 2006 and was launched and elected on Lieberman for Connecticut, although he retained his Democrat listing in voting records.

Lieberman nailed his political coffin shut around 2008 when he appeared at the Republican National Convention and endorsed John McCain.
