Thank you Beth, for being there and for placing the stones.
Buttercup sang
Quote:Shadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile
If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile
When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for awhile
There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sometimes when you're doing simple things
around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile
You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on
your blouse
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you
Engine driver's headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile
These wheels keep turning but they're running out
of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile

I think I first heard it here - either a post by cav or djjd.
Indeed, Beth. Thanks for representing A2K and for helping us to participate in the events since Cav's passing. You did well.
There were quite a lot of people there . . . i don't care for crowds, nor long to remain in a group of strangers, so . . . as soon as the family had preceded everyone, i placed a stone on the monument, and spoke aloud to him: "This stone is for O'Bill and the restaurant, and this stone is for Miss Flyer." Then i got out of there . . . i don't care for crowds . . .
I wonder when it is that I won't cry.
Well, I don't every post I run across, mostly now it cheers me to see his posts, but this one day, yeah.
Did mine arrive or will it be next visit?
Beth, Set, you have my gratitude. Tonight I'll share a bottle of wine with a friend and tell her about Cav. Thanks again.

i posted the warren song again today on letty's radio thread, and got moist of eye reading the lyrics
thanks to beth and set for the representation
Yes, thank you. All of you for being there, and for writing about it here, too.
Planned to do this, but feels sad and strange anyway. In honor of the mourning --> remembering transition.

His father showed us some of the artwork in the apartment at the reception afterward, and spoke of his father (the subject of Cav's threads about his grandfather) and the young artists in Saskatchewan in the 1950's. Very interesting art, and a very interesting tale.

» La Mer
La mer
Qu'on voit danser le long des golfes clairs
A des reflets d'argent
La mer
Des reflets changeants
Sous la pluie
La mer
Au ciel d'été confond
Ses blancs moutons
Avec les anges si purs
La mer bergere d'azur
Infinie
Voyez
Près des etangs
Ces grands roseaux mouilles
Voyez
Ces oiseaux blancs
Et ces maisons rouilles
La mer
Les a berce
Le long des golfes clairs
Et d'une chanson d'amour
La mer
A berce mon coeur pour la vie
Somewhere beyond the sea
Somewhere waitin' for me
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailin'.
Somewhere beyond the sea
She's there watchin' for me
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight to her arms I'd go sailin'.
It's far beyond the stars
It's near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon.
We'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailin'.
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet
I know we'll meet
beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before.
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailin'.

Thanks very much Set, I am honored that you placed the stone I sent. I hope you heard that it had doggie memories (being the coloring of a King Charles Cav).
I don't care much for crowds either. <nodding>
Thanks for representing us Bethie, Set, and Bo, and for telling us all about it. I thought about cav on my walk yesterday. I still miss him.
Thank you so much, Beth. This meant a lot to me.
As I'm typing this, my (relatively) new Cavalier is lying at my feet, licking my toes. He must know I'm thinking about Cav.
Beth, Setanta, thanks for being there.
Beth, I thought about cav and buttercup and cavmom and cavdad on Sunday, I did.
But mostly I thought about you and bo and the drive there...and the pile of stones...and your... thoughtfulness.
And set came, too...
I find it all so bittersweet.
And anyway, I took my walk, and pondered a bit, and remembered a number of things that does a body good to remember...and went home, and ate a pot of stew with fresh crusty bread with some salty butter.
It was a nice day and you, in a way, were part of it.
Thanks, eh?
Thanks for being there for all of us beth, set and bo....
<if cav was here, he would have said that the above sounded like get, set and go
)
I took my own Cavalier for a walk yesterday and I got to think about Cav and others of you I know from this site and thought I must start posting again.
So thanks Cav. I still find it difficult to believe you're not with us.
I posted this on another thread ... had to come back and mention that at the base of the memorial ... it said ...
Eat and be merry.
I sure hope it wasn't inappropriate to grin a bit when I spotted that.
