While coming back from an errand to Home Depot last night:

"Daddy, I'm tired Daddy."

"OK. It will be time for night-night when we get home."

"Daddy, I feel better." Smile

When we arrive at home:

Yaya claps and says, "Good driving the car, Daddy."

The cats are saving us some time in regards to bathing Chiquita:

So Mama, Yaya, and Keetah are driving home from the mall yesterday when they pass an accident. Police and Fire Department are on the scene, and a long conversation follows about how Police Officers and Firefighters work to keep people safe, rescue people in danger, etc.

They get home and the ride has been a tad too long for a tiny toddler.

"Mama! Mama! The fire engine comes! I had a accident!"

You're raising an intent child--much of the time she simply isn't aware of the camera.

Toddlers and makeup don't mix.

Ha!!!

It was right about that age that sozlet got ahold of some paints and completely covered herself, took a pic of her in the bathtub. (I remember writing here or elsewhere about tiny little blue-black footprints...) Not sure if it's scanned, I'll see if I can find it.

Years ago a friend and I cleaned my house top-to-bottom for an Official Office Party. Before we could twist the top off a jug of wine, my friends two-year-old appeared at the top of the steps, decked out like a painted floozie and dragging the last of my lipstick along the painted paneling.

I have a fatalistic streak, but S_____'s mother was most murderous. She called her husband and suggested he come to pick up S_____ before she lost all sense of proportion.

I had only sons. This was not S______ first foray into war paint.

So Yaya says to Mama, "I missed Chiquita before she was born."

Question

A little investigation follows.

Yaya says that she and Chiquita were on a bed together. (Or a giant rooster; it's a little fuzzy.) But then Yaya was with us and she missed Chiquita, until Chiquita was born.

"How many of you were there on the bed?" We asked.

Yaya replies, "one, two, three, four, five!"

Shocked

Correction: Chiquita was behind Yaya on the bed...

New riddle (As she's getting ready for dance class):

"Daddy, do you know where my shoes are?"

"No, sweetie, I don't know where your shoes are."

"On my feet!" <Yaya runs off, giggling.>

Yaya is currently outside the office door repeating, "Daddy, what are you dooooiiiiing? Daaaddy, what are you dooooiiiing?"

Peeking under the door.

God help me when she learns how to open child-proofed doors.

Ha!

I've been curious, how does your childcare arrangement work? You've mentioned that you work from home, and I've been insanely jealous of your apparent ability to actually work AND take care of two tinies..? Is your wife at home, too?

Yeah, T's at home, too. She takes care of the girls, I wander in and out depending on how busy my day is. Makes for fun coffee breaks.

Yaya has been wanting songs about colors.

Tonight she sang, "They call me mellow yellow! Ho, ho, ho, giant green!"
