Mrs. Drew asked me to hold Ya-ya while she fixed Ya-ya's hair.

I asked Ya-ya if she would like me to sing her a song.

"Yeeeaaaas."

"What song do you want to hear?"

"A book song, a wocket song, a wall song, a fwower song, a shelf song, a TV song, a couch song, a Wucky (Lucky) song, a Biscuit song, a door song!" Shocked

Today:

Ya-ya points at a picture of a chipmunk.

"Mama, say it!"

Mama says, "Chipmunk."

"Mama, say it!"

"Chipmunk."

"Mama, say it!"

"Chipmunk!"

"Shipmunk," says Ya-ya. Then she claps and exclaims, "Good job, Ya-ya!"

Ya-ya today was listening to a song on Sesame Street, All I Want is a Book to Read. She listens intently for a few verses, then runs to her bookshelf, grabs two books, and holds them up to the T.V.

Tonight, Ya-ya decided to play dress-up... unbeknownst to us.

She appeared from our closet in one of my T-shirts (with her head was through one of the sleeves, and the hem dragging the floor). On her head was a pair of Mrs. Drew's shorts.

Ya-ya exclaims, "I fancy!"

Last night at dinner, Yaya had been saying for 15 minutes "all done" and "take it away" while pushing her plate.

Then the waitress comes and starts to pick up Yaya's plate.

Yaya says, "I want it!"

The waitress hesitates, looking at me.

Then Yaya giggles, "I make a joke!"

Shocked Cool

Yaya's sister arrived Monday morning quite precipitously. Mommy's water broke at 4:30 a.m. Chiquita was born at 8:38 a.m. Shocked

She's a tiny little thing, six pounds 14 ounces.

Yaya has been delighted. (We've been talking with her for some time about when she would be a big sister.) She hugs and kisses Chiquita, says "Chiquita tiny tiny!

OK. I thought I posted these last night, but apparently my sleep deprivation is catching up with me. Smile

Yeah. Due date was August 30th. The little thing must've been in a hurry.
