sumac, a reprieve yesterday and today, but the news reporting more rain by Saturday. Am enjoying the sunshine though - the plants and trees beginning to sprout new growth.
Nature does give us neat surprises though. The cloud formations over the Sierras <as well as lower elevations> spectacular!
Haven't planted new annuals yet, but have managed feeding all the trees, flower shrubs, plants, and the lawns. I am so ready for the Spring season!!!
Morning all,
Clicked.....
Stradee,
The trees and shrubs are beginning to bud here - it is WAY too early for that to happen normally. Additionally, the grass is starting to bloom on my lawn!!! I'm checking our airconditioner to make sure it's ok - can't wait until it's needed to find out it's not working........ Ahhh, It's ok.
sumac,
I'll trade you some warm sunshine for some cold rain.......
Will go click, then take the computer apart.
With all of that rain, some of you will have to do a lot of pruning this year.
Danon, the Japanese Maple also beginning to sprout new buds! Plan trimming all the hedges tomorrow - and even brought the lawn mower out of storage for maintenance today.
I'm a captive at the house next two days <yaaayyy> (Chevy's at the garage for safety check, new breaks, etc) so i'll be clearing away pine needles, sweeping, pruning, etc. The kittens sitting on the porch enjoying the mild weather also.
Have a good day all ~

Hi, everyone...
I received another e-mail from Anita's son, Stuart, today and he has received word from her nurses for the past two days that her health has continued to take dramatic declines on a daily basis. He said that although no one could say when the end may come, he could tell from their voices that they expect it to be very soon.
He wants everyone to know that he has continued to pass on your messages to his mom as often as she has been able to answer her phone, but for past few days she has ben unable to speak on the phone or even answer a call. Your letters have been a tremendous blessing to Stuart and he knows that, "somehow through the ether, mom too is lifted up by your love".
If I receive any other news re this, I will pass it on to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for keeping us updated, Matrix.
Thank you, matrix.
Wishing we could offer more than love - though love is pretty grand and powerful.
You've had an extremely hard week, ehBeth, and I'm so sorry.
You're right, though, about offering love...I think she and Stuart have a pretty good idea of just how much there is for them here in the Rainforest and at the other sites Anita visited. I hope so, anyway.
Sorry...I didn't see your post there, Merry Andrew. You're very welcome.
ehBeth, sending a thermos of hot chocolate. ((((HUGS))))
Matrix, I posted your message at sb's "missing members" thread.
Very sad news
Sorry to hear about Anita B., but thanks for telling us, Matrix. Stradee, you said it so nicely: love in the Rainforest. Made me feel all calm and green. Please be sure to send that message to Stuart for Anita, I think she'll love the image. I did.
I read this today in the
Daily Astorian and thought most of you would enjoy some alternative news:
Quote:
Marilyn remains a soft-talking activist, and in this neck of the woods (Cannon Beach, Oregon), "activist" is not a bad word.
Wouldn't it be nice if more places were like Oregon?
... Clicked.
And especially so with such a nice place as Cannon Beach, with the Haystack and needles. One of my favorite spots along the Oregon coast.

Prayers for anita - and her family.
Morn'n,
Forty and a Half Acres !!!!!
Yep... Cannon Beach is a pleasure to visit... as is the Rainforest thread.
