@ossobuco,
Smile

Osso I have a diabetic Husky.. So she has to go into the Vets. I'd like to get at least 10 days in America, if she could cope I am hoping.

Next year is our 50th Smile

It's his dream, I may have to come home early.

I have a "daughter in Canada, one in Oklahoma and friends there too" have to see them all.. Then catch a plane to see as much as we can in those 10 days Smile Or 6 max for me, a few more for David.

Without the dog, 2 months trust me Smile

@Eva,

@Eva,
Ha!!

We may actually go to Tulsa and have my friends and "daughter" there, meet up with us, I think Tulsa is closer to them, around 40 minutes. I'm pretty sure it's 2hrs drive from Oklahoma... and my Daughter will drive to me. Keep you posted Smile Be great to meet you .... Such a small World at the end of the day...

@FOUND SOUL,
PS... I got Bigsy a beauty last night, pinching a lamb rack, from my hand whilst I was trying to eat, naughty boy... Then washing himself after... I shall post them later today...

Will this mean that he may be grounded from coming inside? He was a stray cat that I took in, I'm sure I can continue to teach him manners........

@FOUND SOUL,
That would be so great! Let me know when you're coming through Tulsa, and I'll pm you my cell number so we can meet! Small world indeed!!

And don't worry about Bigsy snatching food. Every self-respecting cat (and aren't they all?) does that. We always have plenty here...more than enough for our guests AND Bigsy.

<picks up a morsel off buffet table>
How about a nice piece of shrimp, big boy?

Look how fast he can run! I knew he would like that!!!

Very thank you Eva. You're very kind. I like the place just the way it is. I love the way the lights are dimmed enough to make it warm and welcoming.

@spendius,
Ah the Court Jester whom hangs onto every word so he can try to nail them..

I am sure that you don't just eat Potatoes Spendius... Smile

Thanks Eva, as a stray I'm proud that I took him in, do you know the neighbours next door locked him in a carry bag over night for two nights so he could not get away? And then, contacted me to take him to the RSPCA ( home). I asked, did you give it water? Oh, no? Hense he immediately became mine, I was discusted.

Not withstanding Spendius would you get up at 6am every day to inject a diabetic dog? And the costs associated or would you put the dog to sleep ? I see a conversation is been had by the fire here.

Then off course there is Ruby with Cancer, hope it is 2nd grade or at least 3rd, that is going to cost us heeps but you know, animal love, we will do what we can...

Eva I need to also show you Missy as my Boss, I know you will love to hear my animal tales, seems that you LOVE Bigsy and his girlfriend, thank you for not sweating it. She was meant to die 5 years ago, liver... Pomeranian but yeah, na, 3 months of plastic on my bed, hand feeding her, here she is at 16.5 years old.

Anyone else like to comment on whether I am an animal lover or not?

Anyways...

Eva photos , photos ... Ready to crack up laughing? Glad he's still allowed Smile

See if I can chuck Missy in ( The Pom) just because..she'd like to at least sit in the car when I cook. LAMB.

For sure. I don't eat little baa lambs though.

Did you see that an English dog lifted the crown in the US Ugliest Dog Competition. It was horrible. All animals are pretty ghastly. Religion is an attempt to deny our own animality.

Posing as an animal lover and eating lamb is patently ridiculous.

Drank too much again? Watch out , my cat may scratch you if you are nasty, let alone you being thrown out again.

@FOUND SOUL,
I am a veggie for health reasons.

What I like has been more than adequately covered in my posts.

"It's no go the Yogi man,
It's no go Blavatsky.
All we want is a bank balance
And a bit of skirt in a taxi."

Louis MacNeice - Bagpipe Music.

Here's a line that makes numerous appearances all through the Odyssey like a leitmotif in music.

"And they stretch'd forth their hands to the good cheer laid on the board."

The Everlasting King of Song.

@spendius,
I really like that line from The Odyssey.
It would make a good motto for this place, I think.
So many of us have been through epic journeys to get here.

Let's enjoy ourselves while we can. We never know what will happen next.

Breakfast, anyone? Walter has brought some hearty fare. Hope you're hungry! (No, not you, Bigsy! I think you've had quite enough shrimp for awhile! Here's some cool water for you. You're a lucky fellow to have found FS, you know. Or maybe she's the lucky one?)

I couldn't eat shrimp for wages although I'll admit that if I was starving I would.

@Eva,
Women seem to like shrimp, and seafood generally, more than men. It must be because Aphrodite stepped forth from the waves and men were hatched out by the heat of the sun.

@spendius,
That's quite clever. I'm not a water baby though, but now I know why a man's hug can keep you warm....

Can you eat dairy, Spendius? I could go through all of my recipies if I know what you can eat and like.. Off course Potatoes in any fashion, I'm betting.

Temperatures here have been above 100 degrees for the past four days, and tomorrow will be the same. And it's still June!

Whew! Would anyone care to join me for a tall glass of fresh lemonade? (I added a little limoncello.)
