@spendius,
Spendius, honey, I know that you're only on a liquid diet (beer), but us mortals have to eat!

@CalamityJane,
Gluttony, Cal, is only one of the Seven Deadly Sins and incitements to indulge any of them are pornographic.

@spendius,
That is, if you believe in any of the seven deadly sins, surviving sins, or halfway acceptable sins. In my book, anything goes!

@cicerone imposter,
I love the tipico italian breakfast I would have - skip the hotel hard roll with coffee and steamed milk, go to a nearby bar and have a latte doppio and a cornetto (croissant) or a sfogliatella (flaky pastry filled with ricotta and maybe orange peel), walk some more, stop at another bar/pasticceria and have a cappuccino and this time a dolce or two.. walk some more..
that's the breakfast of champions.

@ossobuco,
Adds, a tipico workman's breakfast, at least that I saw a few times, was a quick espresso corretto, or two. That's corrected with grappa.

I don't buy it. And anyone who refers to an older woman as an "old bag" is not someone I'd pay any attention to anyway. Pfft.

More coffee?

Oh dear. Shocked Are you quite sure you're in the right place, spendius?

Being able to enjoy food is one of the hallmarks of good health, and it is one of the primary joys of life. I worry about people who cannot truly enjoy a good meal.

FS, you might want to skip serving our friend spendius today. I suspect he's not feeling entirely well. I'll bring him something for that.

@Eva,
Calamity is uncommonly frank, but at the same time self assured and quite charming. Shell probably appreciate the coffee.

Quite a lot of well brought up ladies think like that because they have been protected from knowing what "anything" comprises of.

I have been asked that question on occasion prior to this date. Disdainfully usually but sometimes with impatience.

@georgeob1,
Why thank you, George! Yes, I am pretty frank and I am not into all that sugar coated sweet talk that gives you a toothache - I rather tell it like it is Smile
----

So now it's dinner time with excellent desserts and a glass of wine - George is very much into red wine, what was it called again - something with oak, white oak?

Anyway, here is some dessert first - this lady is in our town and has THE most exquisite desserts...

I'm going to send a case for Eva's Wine Cellar. Wouldn't want to run out in case we get stranded down there if there is some kinda weather.

Oh no, we wouldn't want that! Laughing

Thank you, ehBeth!

That cake looks delicious, CJ. What flavor is it? <reaches for a fork>

@Eva,
Does this place have onion rings? I need ones which are properly prepared. Ricardo down the street doesn't seem to know the first thing about them. His end up with nearly no batter and what little there is, is either burnt or raw...often on the same ring.

*say this place has really shaped up since I was last in here.*

@Sturgis,
Let's ask FoundSoul. She and her husband are running the kitchen now, although guests do drop by with all sorts of things to share, like CJ's cake and ehBeth's figs.

I'll bet FS can make some killer onion rings!

And...thanks for noticing all our hard work. It took quite a few of us to get the old place back in shape, but I'm quite pleased with it now.
