I don't know these Walter. "M-joy" is just a smaller
version of the regular bars?

The Wine Cellar is never closed, Walter. Just empty sometimes. But it's good to see you here!

Uh...I'll take that white chocolate if nobody else wants it.

<huff, huff, shuffle>

<drops suitcases, looks around>

Hello-o-o, anybody here? Has everyone forgotten about this place? Jacques? JACQUES????? Oh, there you are! Right where I thought you'd be, dusting off the wine bottles I sent back from our Paris trip. Francis's suggestions will make fine additions to the Wine Cellar. So glad you approve. You know me, I can't get past a well-designed label. That's why we need a real sommelier around here.

Sophie! <kiss, kiss> What have you been up to while I've been gone? You would have loved the patisseries in Paris. I thought about you each time I saw those exquisite little morsels. Speaking of which, I'm hungry after that long trip from the airport. Any chance I might have some of your wonderful baked brie with the sugared nuts? That's my girl!

Well now. There are still a lot of people floating around A2K without a home, or in need of a bit of respite. We must have a party to celebrate the reopening of Eva's Wine Cellar. Jacques, do you have any ideas? It's been so dreadfully hot and humid lately.

<whispering>

How grand! What fun! Yes, let's!

<laughs>

Friends, Jacques says he needs to clear some space in the racks for the new bottles of French wine, and he suggests clearing out some of the older reds for a....

SANGRIA PARTY!!!

So put on your most festive summer outfit and join us here for a drink or two (or three...hell, make it a pitcher!) There's always good company here at Eva's.

Quick before you forget all the details--tell all about your trip. With pics.

I'm always on the lookout for some good, cheap wine. Here's some recommendations by Robert Whitley - all double gold winners.
Avila 2002 Cote d'Avila $14
Canyon Road 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon $10
Chateau St Jean 2003 Chardonnay $14
Fetzer 2004 Riesling $9 Just bought a bottle last week
Scribner Bend 2003 Black Hat Temporarily $15
Zunessi Family Estates 2002 Cabernet Franc $15

I always carry my list with me, and look for these wines. They are bargains for the price.

Close your eyes, close the door,
You don't have to worry any more.
I'll be your baby tonight.

Shut the light, shut the shade,
You don't have to be afraid.
I'll be your baby tonight.

Well, that mockingbird's gonna sail away,
We're gonna forget it.
That big, fat moon is gonna shine like a spoon,
But we're gonna let it,
You won't regret it.

Kick your shoes off, do not fear,
Bring that bottle over here.
I'll be your baby tonight.

Have you forgotten the marvelous virtual tour of Paris that Francis gave us? Just skim back a few pages on this thread, and you can relive it all over again. Ah, the wonders of cyberspace....

Diane? Diane? Did you hear me?

Oh...she's not paying attention. Of course, with a handsome cowboy singing music like that, who could? Oops! Looks like she's dropped her mariachis! Embarrassed

Who's talking about cheap wine here at the Wine Cellar?! Alright then, we aim to please. But just for you, c.i.

I recommend that everyone else stick with Jacques' version. Any wine that has to print "Serve Chilled" on the label is highly suspect, if you ask me.

Eva, People confuse good quality wine with cost. The list I provided above are all double gold wines with values much greater than what we pay for them.

Then those are good suggestions for restocking the Wine Cellar, c.i. I will pass your list on to Jacques. I have a feeling we'll need more after this party. Diane is already on her second pitcher.

Meanwhile, please enjoy some sangria. It's so hot out there...would you like extra ice in yours?

If someone wants a piece of tarte Tatin, just a few steps around the corner some of this famous French apple tart is served during Walter's Virtual cultural Tour de France just now :wink:

Any fruit drink is good in summer or winter. Smile I'm not sure why, but I've been into mango drinks and popsicles.

That's because we're in the land full of fruits and nuts cicerone (that's what they say about California). You know
the double meaning of fruits and nuts, don't you?

Sangria for me please - there is nothing better on a hot
day (actually it's only 74 F here).
