@wheel158,
@markr:

I'm changing my picks slightly, so tgordon92 and I have some more differences (just to make things more interesting and fun). I honestly didn't realize he and I had picks that were so similar (great minds think alike). Hopefully, this makes the deadline:

(added Austria and removed Russia, Poland, Finland and Croatia)

Norway (NOR) 120
Canada (CAN) 77
Austria (AUT) 43
South Korea (KOR) 39
Italy (ITA) 18
Belarus (BLR) 7
Slovakia (SVK) 6
Hungary (HUN) 4
Liechtenstein (LIE) 3
Belgium (BEL) 2
Kazakhstan (KAZ) 1
Ukraine (UKR) 1
Bulgaria (BUL) 0.5
Denmark (DEN) 0.5
New Zealand (NZL) 0.5
Slovenia (SLO) 0.5

323.0 total

wheel158*: 323.50,NOR,CAN,KOR,OAR,ITA,POL,FIN,BLR,SVK,HUN,LIE,BEL,KAZ,UKR,BUL,CRO,DEN,NZL,SLO

Just for kicks, I'll track wheel158's original picks (wheel158*) to see if he was wise to switch.

Good luck all, and thanks for participating. I've got a Google sheet that I'm using to track this. It looks like it will automatically pull in the data from https://www.pyeongchang2018.com/en/game-time/results/OWG2018/en/general/medal-standings.htm. Once I confirm that, I'll share the document so that you can see where you stand at any time of the day. I'll post my daily updates here between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. PST.

@markr,
Just to be clear, wheel158* is not eligible to win a medal.

@markr,
Well, the first medals were awarded (lmur takes the early lead), but my sheet didn't update as quickly as I would have hoped - even with manual refreshes. We'll see how that goes. Here's the link to the sheet if you want to check standings:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rDFEVFY4dOnjor4SYGc70S8EODX44vAJS-D1cxYcfpg/edit?usp=sharing

You'll mostly care about the blue rectangle (columns U-X) in the "2018 Fantasy Olympics" tab that has the latest standings. If you're interested, there's another tab ("2018 Results Comparison") that gets results from three different sources - two from the official site and Wikipedia. I prefer Wikipedia's format (it has the 3-letter NOCs embedded), but if the official site works out, I'll stick with that.

Side note: The third format (from the official site) breaks down medals by gender. If the Summer Olympics folks would do that, it would make automating the running of the original Fantasy Olympics (with split, M/F, countries) a breeze.

Also, I'll try to get updates out between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. PST to make it convenient for more time zones.

From your sheet.
I find myself with 25 points, not 21.
3 golds (GER, KOR)
3 silvers, 1 bronze (NOR)

Thanks all for the error reports. I just got up and noticed the errors. This gets back to my preferred use of 3-letter NOCs. There is inconsistency between the official site's and Wikipedia's naming of countries (e.g. Republic of Korea vs. South Korea). Also, OAR is new/temporary. I've added some manual data to the NOCs sheet and changed the formula in column I. Things should be correct now (until the next discrepancy).

@lmur,
lmur: Actually the first update that I posted was correct when posted. Only one set of medals had been awarded at the time. The problems surfaced later (between my going to bed and getting up) when certain other countries won medals.

I appreciate the gesture, wheel158, but this was not necessary. I was kind of looking forward to the battle between Great Britain and five longshot countries that would decide the winner between us. Looks like I'll be able to track that anyway, though, thanks to markr's asterisk entry for you.

@tgordon92,
I like a challenge Very Happy

Besides the "long shots", my original team had Belgium, where your team had Great Britain.

@markr, thanks for tracking my original team too. I'm also curious to see what the point difference will be. I estimate < 10 points. And yes, I understand that my asterisk team is exhibition only.

Go Austria (and my other countries)!

@markr,
Skinrip and I hear you on the scoring. Different sites have different country names, etc. I think the IOC country code is the easiest (and most robust) method. I'll see if I can find some other reliable medal tables that use the 3-letter codes.
