That was a very creative Triple Salchow - Double Axel combination that she did last season. I never thought I'd see an Axel as the second jump in a combination.

It's a tough Olympic year to be a female skater though. Russia is sending the two best female skaters in human history to this Olympics (both of them easily better than Yuna Kim). Unless one of them suffers a fluke fall or something, the rest of the world is going to be competing for the bronze.

Dance:
Very high confidence that the French and Canadian teams are fighting over gold and silver. The French team recently pulled ahead of the Canadian team. But this Canadian team has a reliable history of being beaten just before the Olympics, and then coming back unbelievably strong in the Olympics themselves.

Very high confidence that the American team will get the bronze.

Ladies:
Very high confidence that these two Russians will win gold and silver. It is scary how good they both are. Really a tossup which of the two will get gold.

Low confidence on the bronze prediction. But it is my best guess.

Men and Pairs:
Low confidence. All of these people can achieve this on a good day. None of them have good days with any consistency.

Other thoughts:

I'm glad that China is finally sending Sui and Han to the Olympics. China's decision to not send them to the last Olympics was a catastrophic blunder.
