Must be an asian thing. Nee sheds like crazy too. But she cleans as well.

Wilso, I think that we just see it more clearly because it is so black. It stands out. Maybe?

Long hair just sticks where it is. Short hair can go down the drain, blow into the corner and under the furniture, whatever.

There's no getting rid of long hair save mucking it out.

Yeah, bathrooms are usually light colours (mine is). That's where it's most obvious.

Ok. For all of you whom have said we need to tell this guy I issues up front, when they come up, etc (and HM#3 was himself one of those who asked this of us). I have a story for you.

I was in the kitchen when he came out of his room. I'd lysoled the cabinet and drawer pulls for the 4th time, I'd lysoled the bathroom for the 4th time. He came out and started using the kitchen. I asked him for help.

I said, "I have been sick for 4 weeks. I am desperate to not get sick again. Could you help me by washing your hands before using the kitchen?"

He said, "Uh, sure, yeah."

<ok> He used the sink, he used the fridge, he opened cbinets and took out plates. He had not yet washed his hands.

I said, "Ok, here's an example. You have been using things here without having first washed your hands. You used the (list as above)."

he said, <blank>

I said, "Could you do me a huge favor and wash your hands when you come out of your room? Before you start to cook. Just come out and wash your hands so I don't get sick again?"

he said, <blank>

I said, "I am desperate to not get sick (again). I have been spraying things down so I won't get sick again. I need you to help me by washing your hands. <is>."

he said, <blank>

I said, "Is this too much to ask?"

he said, "uh, not it's ok."

Ok. I watched and waited a little while longer. My tea water boiled, I poured the pot and left the kitchen. He never washed his hands.

What do I do with that?

But seriously, I don't think there is anything you can do, short of telling him to leave, and you have decided this is impractible.

I suspect at this point, re the current germs, you are driving yourself bats for no purpose.

Re catching anything he has right now, if you are gonna catch it, it's done. No point that I can see lysoling yourself into a frenzy and stressing out. Stress ain't good for your immune system.

Anyway, you're probably just breeeding a race of super germs in your kitchen.

No way a few squirts of disinfectant are gonna kill everything, and those which live will become harder to kill.

I am sorry...I know this does nothing for your frustration level to hear, but I think it is the truth.

Lol! The ranting, now, THAT probably DOES do something good for your immune system.

dlowan, you're probably right.

I am way more stressed about missing work. I have missed to days which I won't get paid for. I had good friday off which I won't be paid for. And, I have spring break in a week for which I won't get paid. I have had too many days off without pay and can't afford any more. If I get super-sick again I'm fucked. I'm already fucked, actually.

I know.

Been there.

I got hospital sick when I was still a student, and I was sick for MONTHS.

Dragging yourself to work means you get sick again.....but not working means you starve.

I think we're back to the chicken soup and colostrum (which really works a bit, apparently) and just trying to nurture yourself as much as you can.

I hardly DARE to suggest it...but could someone like parents help out a bit, so you don't feel so desperate, which doesn't help you get well?

I dunno......my friendship group kinda chips in at moments like this, for each other, and it all kind of balances out in the end....but I know this is likely not that common....

Too true, re the stress.

At the school we've had some sort of bug going around (and around and around) that flares up every time a lot of people are under stress (surgery days, exams, etc.).

I'm sick as a dog now (the same old hacking, a little bit of blood occasionally, deep, productive cough). Every time I lose a lot of sleep over two or three consecutive days. 4th time since last summer.

We're such a model of disease outbreaks in stressed, crowded populations.

Hey, man. Coughing up blood is serious. See a people doctor, OK?
