Good grief, when did you move in, again?

Was the apartment furnished?

And a haircut I gave myself at 3am. I was taking a break.

Nope, not furnished at all. I spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday putting things away... And cutting my hair. And otherwise procrastinating from writing the chapter that's due tomorrow morning (well, was on Thursday, but that's history now).

I am impressed girls! YOu just moved and everything is in place, the
pictures are hanging, the shelves are neatly filled, and it looks like
you've been there for years. You did an amazing job, and fast too.

Your haircut is great, dag. It suits you very well. You just need some
blonde highlights in it for the summer.

I chopped it off mostly to get rid of old color. Still a bit left, but after one more haircut two or three months from now, it will all be gone. Sun should do the highlights for me. I'll be spending a month under the scorching sun of India, so that should take care of that.

Nice place! And I see green out those windows.

years of practice. i don't like going to the hairdressers, never did. i used to cut my own hair till i was about 24... not since then, but yesterday was a perfect spontanneous moment for that.

the back you just have to guesstimate. turning as much as you can on one side and the other (hurts eyes) and using comb to brush hair up and then chop it off the same length as in front.... sigh... years of practice is all.

Great place! I really like the feel of it. Probably because it's how I like to live. (and you're so organised. already! ) Only reservation: I just wish there was a bit more under-developed garden for k to play with!

I cant see the pics for some reason, but I am sure it is nice enough for me to come and crash when I have drunk too much at dag's party....

I am crashing right now, too. Head hitting the desk at work, sooo exhausted. I got an extension on my chapter, I can send it in tomorrow, but am totally braindead. ugh. what a looooooong weekend.

How did Bootsie deal with the first day being at the new home alone?

That's a sweet thought, MsOlga. Thanks. But, right now I am too overwhelmed to think of gardening.

So..... Dag did do an amazing jobs. I have undone some of it. I am trying to unpack my stuff - finding that I need this bookshelf in my bedroom and that drawer for the silverware..... I guess we all have our pickiness. Dag likes the surfaces to be neat, organized and beautiful. I want things to be functional. Sometimes this two approaches don't mix right. She'll kill me.

So. then I was told that I can't transfer my DSL just like that! There will be a 1-2 week switch-over window (what?). So, I am using dial up because the wireless I an get is through some total stranger and I feel bad about it. Slooooowwww.

Bootsie's first day wa sok. She seems a bit down/anxious. I only spent 4 - 5 hours away (11-4, or so). My nice is such a girlie, she couldn't wait to see myh new place! Then when she got here: "Oh! Wha a beautiful garden! Look at this great apartment!" Um, where did she come from?

Sorry about the dial up - being on DSL now for only 10 months - I feel ya with the dial up thing...it is horrid.

First day after all the tile is in, and ostensibly I can move in... but no, I can't, as if I do move all my stored stuff in, I'll just have to move it all around while I paint. Anyway, sympathy here.

Geez, on clean countertop or not, I even argue with myself. Let's just say I am not dismayed by an unclean countertop, and have suspicions toward those who maintain them. Quoting an old boss, "a clean desk bespeaks an empty mind". Or something like that. Of course that is not true, but comfort to the cleaning afflicted.

<raises hand> I'm cleaning impaired!

I am feeling unsettled because I haven't yet unpacked, but it's only been a few days for me. Is all your stuff in storage?
