So, you are both home safe and sound, yes, it must be near three a.m. there, you'd better be.

G'night and g'morning.

I thought l'k wasn't going to let people store crap there anymore? (or so she said three years ago)

Whatever you do, l'k, don't agree to accept any parcels for her, or arrange any deliveries for her.

She's a grown-up.

well, honestly, she has left it all to her friend who is sub-letting this summer. She does plan to return at the end of the summer to help ship stuff. I have a feeling her return has less to do with her feeling badly for her friend and more to do with the fact that she was so disorganized when she left. She didn't even show her friend around the house before she left her here to us.

Met one of my new neighbors in my duplex.

Remember how I was all pissed about seeing a little kid over there? It was actually my neighbor's grandson, and the neighbors are an older couple who said they spend most of the summer at the cape.

They may not hate us after next weekend afterall. May not be there to see us playing beer pong in the back yard. Someday I'll grow up.

So, ding dong, the witch is gone. A friend of hers asked to come by and get the suitcase that HM#2 had borrowed (6 months ago). She mentioned how rude it was of HM#2 to have made us do the work of getting her her suitcase. I said, that won't be the last thing I do for HM#2 before she's out of my life all-together.

Her friend (summer-subletter) is a very quiet and helpful woman. I guess I should have known that there couldn't be two HM#2s in any one group of friends. She's almost too quiet.

Hopefully, the french grad student will come through for a fall semester sublet. I should know within a few days.

No complaints about home life..... aaaahhhhh.

I have to stop and admire you, lilK. I have room in my place for housemates and I think I could near die first. OK, I know I'm odd. But I'm not sure renting out would be any sig increase of income re cashflow going out, in my case, and it might drive me mad in the meantime.

I alway read your roommate posts with wonder.
Also, I am a hundred years older.

I think the key difference between you and I is that you have long lived alone and I never have. I sometimes long to live without housemates, but I also worry that I'd become an irreversible hermit if I did. I know my personality a little too well. Or, maybe I don't give myself enough credit. I dunno.

Well, re lots of other people, I have lived long alone, between 23 and 34, and 55 and now 63. Let's say it is not unknown territory.

Sorry, didn't mean to swing the thread to my thing - was just admiring your benevolence and enjoyment, trouble notwithstanding, of housemates.

Dammit. I never checked this thread after my last post...sorry!

I got me 3 new roomates, feel like I started a mini boarding house. They all seem pretty cool/laid back, and I stressed they need to clean up after themselves when I "interviewed" them, so hopefully it works out ok.

Who's your new roomate, Littlek? Gorgeous single woman loose on morals? Send her this way...and good luck.
