There was, last time I looked into it. Even with the subsidy, they're still a bit out of reach. The current administration likely put an end to the subsidy, but when it was there it was something like $7,500. The kind of vehicles I generally buy are economy grade. With the subsidy an electric would still be a couple of steps beyond my means. Shame, really. I like the idea of an electric, and not for the environmental side of things. For the simplicity and efficiency of it.

I'd agree Tom. In retirement I don't need a whole lotta range so I'd probly get all-lect

As of late 2016 Fed subsidies ranged from around $2.5K to $7.5K. Some states may add their own incentive for EV vehicles. I don't know if Fed incentives have been cancelled YET?!
