@Walter Hinteler,
How Germany voted
The provisional results of the Bundestag election are certain.
• The
CDU/CSU wins the Bundestag election with
28.5 per cent of the vote,
• the
AfD (20.8%) is the second strongest party,
• the
SPD (16.4%) achieves its worst result in a Bundestag election and
• the
Greens achieve
11.6 per cent.
• The
FDP (4.3%) and the
BSW (4.97%) fail to reach the five per cent threshold and are
kicked out of the Bundestag.
• The
Left Party achieved
8.8 per cent of the vote and became the strongest force among young voters, the AfD among workers.
• The AfD dominates in large parts of eastern Germany. Several parties show an east-west divide.
•
Voter turnout (82.5%) rises to its highest level since reunification.
