Filling In Your A2K Profile/ Why Not?

My profile is pretty much up-to-date.

Macsm, What does true IRL mean? Don't tell me you're David Duchovny

IRL = in real life

I am definitely not David Duchovny - wouldn't mind being Tea Leoni, though.

I filled mine in, but...lately when I've tried to read other's profiles, all I get is a list of their posts.
What am I doing wrong?

I won't be filling in my description. I'd rather not give the opportunity for incorrect assumptions about me based on a couple lines in a description.

I figure that if there is anyone truly interested in getting to know about me, they'll ask me questions or I'll point out things we have in common within the context of threads.

I participate in many threads and volunteer an awful lot about myself in my posts so there's plenty of material for people to learn from and ask me about if they wish to.

I understand internet shyness and caution, but wish more people would post some semblance of themselves on their profiles. Generally we have a pretty coherent community of people who love to talk and argue with each other, and it is helpful to have some sense of who you might be talking with.

People often get comfortable and reveal themselves in terms of hopes and beliefs here. And then you check their profile, and BLANK. Seems silly not to give at least a few comments about yourself when a few days later you may delineate your whole philosophy of life. No, you don't have to give real clues to find your house.

I'm wichya osso. A short blurb certainly helps to give us some semblance of who we're talking with. A blank leaves me cold. c.i.

I think those of us from Abuzz still feel a bit nervous about the clones and that's why something brief in the profile page gives us an anchor.
