Are you sure "seduced" is appropriate.By saying HE seduced Her women escape responsibility.

Well remember, it was her favorite book, not his. I agree, it's always a mutual seduction. But often, one or the other of the seducing couple fails to see it that way. The general public fails often too.

So many have the goal of seeing themselves as innocent.......or guilty and begging for forgiveness, but rarely an agent.

I mentioned an old English folk song in the pub last night which my memory renders in words as-

Mersey ducks and Dozie ducks
And little Amzey Divey
A tiddly Ivy coo
Wouldn't you?

This produced from Vic,my vice-sloper,

Mares eat oats and does eat oats
And little lambs eat ivy
And I eat ivy (Ivy) too
Couldn't you?

It is sung to a rhythm made famous by the internationally renowned cundoctoress Madame Lola von Bumpskins and inspired by six pints of John Smith Extra Smooth No-Nonsense Bitter.

To settle the ensuing dispute a lady of the Bumpskin party was asked to adjudicate and she claimed that the correct version is

Maisie dotes and Dozie dotes
And little handsie divey
And tiddly hidey do
Wouldn't you?

Has anyone the erudition to clear up what is obviously a classic case of a clash of ignorance.

Mares (female horses) eat oats and does (baby dear) eat oats
and little lambs eat ivy
a kid'll eat ivy too
Wouldn't you?

That's the way I've always heard it sung. Catchy little tune and silly lyrics. But slightly fun, the first 100 times.

But when sung properly, the first time listener doesn't hear words, it sounds like

mares e doats and does e doats
and little lams e divy
a kiddle e divy too
wouldn't you?

I actually thought it was square dancing instructions. Laughing

That's the way I sang the song when I was a young, impressionable little girl. When my mother sang it so I could understand the words, I was very surprised.

Maarnin' Lola.

It's endless fun with six pints and some game English Roses.

Can you decode the final one in my post. The lady one. Most of us men seek clarification on that one.

Boys are boys and girls are girls

And Elton John is queer

He can't afford to take the risk

Of drinking too much beer.

I think it's some sort of invitation to do something involving diving hands and tit-hiding........

Lola:-

Actually,to be serious for a moment (as if),the debate between the eebies and the sensible chaps is one of extremes merely for clarification.Young impressionable lads can have their heads twisted too far into eebie mode by a bunch of middle-aged has-beens posturing, whistling in the dark according to all the statistics I have seen and hearsay,as Shakespeareans. With no countervailing arguments they can easily link their self-respect to aping these false positions and before you can say whatever they say in the youess to denote rapidity they are blitzed, washed out and,in more cases than I care to remember, suicidal from following the eebie path. This is a high price to pay simply because one side of the argument fails to gain an airing.

I think it is more to do with two young ladies of a naturally healthy mischievousness diving down the front of the trousers of a gent, such as myself, with the intention of giving him a red face,It is the lady version after all. This is why I think Lucien Leuwen was always portrayed in the company of refined ladies who don't do that sort of thing under any circumstances whatsoever.
The lady who offered it did have a joyous glint in her eyes at the time she offered it and both Vic and myself backed off a little as you might expect.

young lads may be impressionable, but they are hardly innocent.......are those middle aged women to whom they are prey? Or do they become middle aged has been men posturing and whistling in the dark?

If it's middle aged women seducing young boys......the boy could, if he were wise, count it as a lesson well learned. Eebeism can be both a male and female trait.
