CI....You will find Malta very interesting, but I will give you one very important tip. If you go swimming, do not under any circumstances swallow any seawater. This is the quickest way to get the "Malta dog" and you will spend your holiday sitting on the loo. Also bottled, sealed, brand names only mineral water.
You must go to Gozo while you are there, and if you do, hire a car which will allow you to cover the island in a day. A must visit on Gozo is Xeri's grotto (pronounced sherries). A man was putting a new floor in his kitchen one day and a hole appeared. It turned out to be an underground network of caves.
On Malta itself, things to see include the Hypogeum, the Victoria line and prehistoric cart tracks.
