Portal Star,

Are you suggesting that giving a testimony about God's wisdom and quoting from the Bible is to "practice piety before men"?

You must admit that quite a good deal of the Bible can be open to interpretation.

Take this passage, for example:

4. Unfaithful people! Don't you know that to be the world's friend means to be God's enemy? If you want to be the world's friend, you make yourself God's enemy.

If we are not to be the world's friend, therefore by logical conclusion we are to be the world's enemy. Therefore, according to this passage, it is God's will for us to treat it as an enemy, to treat it with suspicion, to treat it with disdain, to attack it and maybe even destroy it. If you interpret it like that, logically it is Christian to want to pollute the world's environment, in order to destroy it.

9. Be sorrowful, cry, and weep; change your laughter into crying, your joy into gloom!

This can be taken to mean, it is unChristian to be joyful. It is unchristian to laugh, to smile, to not weep.

It is my firm belief that you must question the Bible and all that is within it. You mustn't question it in a way that would allow you to understand it better, to understand what its really saying, for it is all open to interpretation and everything may have double meanings.

Reality is far greater than one man, so one man can never see the entire truth and one viewpoint will never allow you to see all of reality.

(Hm... I like that phrase. I might just make it my signature).

Wrong,
to not be an enemy does not mean being a friend. A friend is one that not only loves you, but likes you, and partakes with you in your life. To like means to respond with affection to something like to your own interests, or which you admire, etc. A good father will love a bad child, but not be buddy-buddy with him in his self-destructive behavior.

Good News Translation: Wisdom from Solomon

Proverbs 5
My child, pay attention and listen to my wisdom and insight.

2 Then you will know how to behave properly, and your words will show that you have knowledge.

3 The lips of another man's wife may be as sweet as honey and her kisses as smooth as olive oil,

4 but when it is all over, she leaves you nothing but bitterness and pain.

5 She will take you down to the world of the dead; the road she walks is the road to death.

6 She does not stay on the road to life; but wanders off, and does not realize what is happening.

7 Now listen to me, sons, and never forget what I am saying.

8 Keep away from such a woman! Don't even go near her door!

9 If you do, others will gain the respect that you once had, and you will die young at the hands of merciless people.

10 Yes, strangers will take all your wealth, and what you have worked for will belong to someone else.

11 You will lie groaning on your deathbed, your flesh and muscles being eaten away,

12 and you will say, "Why would I never learn? Why would I never let anyone correct me?

13 I wouldn't listen to my teachers. I paid no attention to them.

14 And suddenly I found myself publicly disgraced."

15 Be faithful to your own wife and give your love to her alone.

16 Children that you have by other women will do you no good.

17 Your children should grow up to help you, not strangers.

18 So be happy with your wife and find your joy with the woman you married--

19 pretty and graceful as a deer. Let her charms keep you happy; let her surround you with her love.

20 Son, why should you give your love to another woman? Why should you prefer the charms of another man's wife?

21 The LORD sees everything you do. Wherever you go, he is watching.

22 The sins of the wicked are a trap. They get caught in the net of their own sin.

23 They die because they have no self-control. Their utter stupidity will send them to their graves.

I have heard that the Bible forbids necromacy and bringing the dead back to life.

Why is it, then, that some of you so-called Christians insist on bringing dead topics back to life? Sure, it's probably not the same as bringing a living human being back to life, but I'm pretty sure the Bible forbids necromancy in general.

God probably also had Internet forum topics in mind, as well as human beings and animals, when he forbade necromancy.

Psalm 52
1 Why do you boast, great one, of your evil?
God's faithfulness is eternal.

2 You make plans to ruin others;
your tongue is like a sharp razor.
You are always inventing lies.

3 You love evil more than good
and falsehood more than truth.

4 You love to hurt people with your words, you liar!

5 So God will ruin you forever;
he will take hold of you and snatch you from your home;
he will remove you from the world of the living.

6 Righteous people will see this and be afraid;
then they will laugh at you and say,

7 "Look, here is someone who did not depend on God for safety,
but trusted instead in great wealth
and looked for security in being wicked."

8 But I am like an olive tree growing in the house of God;
I trust in his constant love forever and ever.

9 I will always thank you, God, for what you have done;
in the presence of your people
I will proclaim that you are good.

True, true. I'm not really a Christian, but if I were, I would say that the only true words of wisdom would be the original Ten Commandments and pretty much anything Jesus said.

You cannot misconstrue "Thou shalt not murder" and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

(And in a recent program on Channel 4 over in the UK, people were asked to vote for a new Ten Commandments for the modern age. They voted almost unanimously for one, which is the latter of my mentioned quotes).

Sorry that is quoted wrong. Its is: Thou shalt not kill. Exdous 20: 13

Pro 5:1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, [and] bow thine ear to my understanding:
Pro 5:2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and [that] thy lips may keep knowledge.
Pro 5:3 For the lips of a strange woman drop [as] an honeycomb, and her mouth [is] smoother than oil:
Pro 5:4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
Pro 5:5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
Pro 5:6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, [that] thou canst not know [them].
Pro 5:7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Pro 5:8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Pro 5:9 Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
Pro 5:10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours [be] in the house of a stranger;
Pro 5:11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
Pro 5:12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
Pro 5:13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
Pro 5:14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

Pro 5:17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
Pro 5:18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
Pro 5:19 [Let her be as] the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

Pro 5:21 For the ways of man [are] before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
Pro 5:22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

The one thing i wish you would stop doing is quoting from a corrupt version of the bible. Use the KJV, it is not based on Wescott and Horts twisted Greek Text. All the new versions are. Do a Google Search on Wescott and Hort, they hated Christians, so why quote from a bible, that is based on a greek text made by GOD HATERS????? hmmmm?

Reference: King James Version

Isaiah 14:
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart,
a) I will ascend into heaven,
b) I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
c) I will sit also upon the mount of the Congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 d)I will ascend above the heights of the clouds:
e)I will be like the most High.

COMPARISON:

OLD TESTAMENT
1) Isaiah 14:12
How art thou fallen from heaven
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
(Note: Lucifer is Latin for bright.)

NEW TESTAMENT
Revelation 22:16

OLD TESTAMENT
2) Isaiah 14:13 I will ascend into heaven

NEW TESTAMENT
Luke 24:51
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. Mark 16:19

OLD TESTAMENT
4) Isaiah 14:13
I will sit also upon the mount of the Congregation, in the sides of the north.

b) Location of the Last Supper is just north of (Mt. Zion?)]

Psalm 48:2
Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Mark 2:19.
And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20. But the days will come, while the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

Luke 5:34.
And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridegroom fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35. But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

Revelation 19:7.
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
9. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Revelation 20:9.
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

Isaiah 14:19
"But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch,..."
Note: The image of Jesus on the cross confirms it for there is no gravesite of him.

Jesus fits the descriptions of Lucifer almost to a T.

You continue with your rant about the so called 'lucifer', forgetting that the word means only 'shining one' and could apply to any of God's heavenly creatures. The words of Isaiah refer to the one who wished to ascend to heaven and usurp a position which did not belong to him. But, of course, you would know that if you were not so determined to make your point.

the original Canaanite version" of the Biblical passage Isaiah 14:12-14:

How hast thou fallen from heaven, Helel's son Shaher!

Above the circumpolar stars I will raise my throne
And I will dwell on the Mount of Council in the back of the North
I will mount on the back of a cloud.
I will be like unto Elyon.

The source is not here given, there is no index, and there is no bibliography. However, unlike many of these Angel dictionaries, this one seems well researched otherwise, with sources often noted. On pg. 116, there is a note under the subtitle "The Nephilim," which states, "Helel: Son of the Canaanite Shaher who is often identified with Lucifer himself.

In Revelation Jebus is identified as the Morningstar.
