As is the history of Americans coming to Canada when things don't go their way. I'm in agreement with the commentator that said that he felt it was one of the reasons that America, as a whole, had moved to the right over the past 40 years. I'm also in agreement with him that it would do the whole world more good to make them stay in the U.S. and put together a better argument.

I don't disagree. If American politics where in the middle we would all be at least semi-happy, but both sides would have to give a little and that will never happen!

Don't know whether any U.S. friends want to re-settle in
Ontario but my wife and I would be happy to accept two
or three seniors. We have a big house and with only two of
us in it, we've lots of room and food for a year or however
long it takes to make a new home.

Just a reminder though. Canada is a very liberal country and
our ways are much different than those in the U.S. For example
we have legalized medical marijuana, have abolished the death
penalty, have legalized same sex marriage, allow felons to
vote, don't allow any handguns and give everyone free health
care. Our government just announced an $8 billion dollar surplus
for the year, we have almost a zero drop-out in schools and the
unemployment rate is very low.

So we must be doing something right and will welcome any
newcomers. And for your President who was given four more
years we wish him success and hope that he can keep his promise
to "smoke Bin Laden out of his hole" , put people back to work,
improve the schools, decrease instead of increase Rx drugs for
Seniors and win the peace in Iraq without sacrificing the lives of
anymore young American lives.

It's so very kind of you and your wife to offer space in you home to people who should head this way, but please be very careful because as much as we'd like to be able to trust everyone, not everyone can be trusted. Be careful who you allow in your home and bless you and your wife.

Sounds like the old Turner Hypothesis, updated and back in service. It's really great that Canada's there. It doesn't make much difference how many really go, so long as it's there. Still glad it was there for you too, Montana.

although the elections have caused a stir- the reason i wish to move to canada is because my values are closer to theirs then americans. Though the election did not help things, i have been considering the move for some time, infact in the US i dont even consider myself a democrat im more of a socialist. To me it makes more sense to go to a nation wether it be canada, or somewhere else where i can coinside and have a national identity that is more represented by the governments actions

I think it is funny also. Umm you do know that all the applicants are Republicans. I have applied 8 times, most of my friends have at least that each. Everyone started doing it after a spokesman of your government said all had to apply. Before any of "all" had applied. At any rate no one needs help driving across the border. You guys are nuts but very funny. Never been there but heard it was nice in the Summer.
