What is TULAREMIA?

CI - I just got that. Duhh! Surprised

Oh look, that PSYCHO rabbit escaped down a ROPE through the TORN CURTAIN in the REAR WINDOW! It was last seen heading in a NORTH BY NORTHEAST direction for THE 39 STEPS to the JAMAICA INN. According to MR AND MRS SMITH of NUMBER 17 they were SPELLBOUND by this NOTORIOUS SABOTEUR. STRANGERS ON A TRAIN also reported seeing the bunny in a FRENZY, but said they were YOUNG AND INNOCENT, "THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY [the bunny], is he's THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, always out TO CATCH A THIEF".

TULARAEMIA:
(rabbit fever). A disease of rodents and rabbits, caused by the bacterium Francisella tularensis, that is transmitted to man by deer flies, by direct contact with infected animals, by contamination of wounds, or by drinking contaminated water. Symptoms include an ulcer at the site of infection, enlarged lymph nodes, headache, aching pains, loss of weight and a fever lasting several weeks.
Treatment with chloramphenicol, streptomycin or tetracycline is effective.
