Just a question from a completely ignorant American: why is it that these cricket matches seem to go on for days? Is it that you can't finish things in a decently short period of time or is it that you have so much time to squander you waste it on tests which go on forever?

A long day's cricket in the sun, to see India give us a bad time . Australia - world champions? - not at this showing! It's not over yet - but nothing to be optimistic about!

To use Margo's exact words, test cricket's too long for the five minute attention span and instant gratification requirements of most Americans. That's why we also have what's called "one day" cricket.
