My vote has been swayed. I was going to vote for Bush, but seeing how nasty the Bush supporters are toward Kerry, I've changed my mind.

OK, that's not true...Someone actually voted that he/she changed based on A2K? That's remarkable...

I didn't change my views of the candidates & parties as a result of A2K debate, but what was really interesting for me was, for the first time, hearing what real people made of it all ..... where they stand & why. In prior o/s elections it was the media, & only the media, who informed us of developments, opinions, "the mood of the electorate", etc. ... So this has been refreshing & instructive. I've also discovered that there are fellow travellers & kindred spirits all over the planet! Very Happy Now that's been FANTASTIC to learn! Very Happy

I went with still time, though probably should have said yes. I've flip-flopped back and forth between Bush and Nader... and I still am not sure. I'll let you know tomorrow.

I believe it has swayed my vote, indirectly. After reading many many debates on these pages, I realized how misinformed I was before joining A2K. I realized how convincing people from polar opposite sides of an issue can be. And in that way, it was a catalyst for me to go out and get better informed. And so indirectly, it has swayed my vote by lighting a fire under my ass to find out the real story (or at least my version of it ). If I hadn't come here, I'd probably be going, damn, it's all so complicated, and would probably not be voting at all. It is complicated, but I think I am informed enough now to cast a vote with confidence that I know, for the most part, what I am voting for and against.

This has been a very difficult decision for me, as I intensely dislike both major candidates, but for different reasons. I think that listening to varying opinions on A2K, in addition to the media, really gave me the opportunity to see a much larger picture, with views coming from individuals, as well as organizations, that have an agenda. I have cast my ballot, but am still not happy about it.

I feel for you phoenix, it's never a positive experience voting against something as opposed for voting for it.

You're welcome to form the american branch of the newly formed (by MsOlga, Dlowan and Mr Stilly) disaffected party. Two choices isn't a choice at all in the wide spectrum of politics.

kickycan, that's really cool.

O'Bill, there's still hope? I didn't think there was. On another thread you said you were looking for reasons to vote for Kerry. Would a listing of those from me be irrelevant if it's between Bush and Nader? Would a listing of why I think Bush is so awful be more relevant? Would you prefer I shut up already? :-D

Really, if there's any chance, I'd love to give it a shot if you give me some parameters.

Once again, this is a referendum on the Bush administration. From all the evidence that is factual aand undisputed, Bush has not been honest with the country and has betrayed a trust. we were all conned in his Iraq excursion and we must deal with that. To reinvest trust in his failed admin just to "get us out with honor and victory" sounds Nixonian to me. I was a young kid then and I dont want my son, who is rapidly appoaching draft age to be yet another candidate for this national sacrifice. Ive lived it once and I dont want to live it again. There is no honor, revenge, or justice that we chalk up in Iraq. We f***ed up and will have to spend another generation to get over it . (although, this time , we recognize the separation between the soldiers and the admin)

Im not entirely satisfied with Kerry , Id be an idiaot to say otherwise. Ill be on his ass if he , likewise, betrays our trust. However, Bush does not deserve a second term in office. Hes a failure and a liar.

How can it be again? It's obviously the first referendum on the Bush administration.
