Ha, cowdoc. San Diego. Should be more exciting then wherever you were the last time you travelled.
Johnboy also posts early. Johnboy is in the retail arena and this is a busy season for us. So far it is looking pretty good for my four specialty stores. But I am fearful that, early in December, when folks get there first heating bill, spending may dry up.
Anyway, I am picking:
Indy (they are good)
Chicago
Jacksonville
Minnestota
NY Giants
Tampa Bay
Miami
Pittsburgh (the season is on the line)
Carolina
Baltimore
Arizona
St Louis (based on Pan's appraisal of the QB)
New England
Denver (tough pick)
San Diego
Seattle (37)

CowDoc wrote:
Your definition of a "skiff" is correct, jb. I was referring to the fact that the higher country gets considerable more snow than the lower parts of the valley.

I thought of you today, cowdoc, when a lady came into my store. I have known Kay for many years. She is a lawyer, a long-time Democratic activist, a one-time member of our City Council and mayor of Charlottesville for a few years. I think she ran for a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates but lost.
Anyway, she was in this morning quite early and I said something about how it smelled of snow. She responded by saying that, when she crossed over Carter's Mountain today, there was a "skiff of snow." My head snapped back. I told her about your use of the word. She said that it was a word she knew from her childhood growing up in Missouri, and was usually only used in reference to a light dusting of snow.
So "skiff" may not be in my dictionary meaning a "touch," but I have added it to my vocabulary. And we might get a skiff of snow tonight, as it turns out.

Perhaps, Panzade, you may feel that you are going out on a limb, but with a Deviant score of 10, you are not too far away from the collective wisdom of the 11 players this week (we lost Ray, darn it). Region, Fbaezer and Lion are at 3; Cowdoc and El-diablo are at 15. Johnboy, consensus builder or lap-dog that he is, agrees with the majority in every game.
Further out on the proverbial limb are JPinmilw (19), Child (25), George (30) and Dragon (37). See you around 4:30.

The early games are over. Johnboy crawls to the keyboard. I got into a fight on Friday with a cardboard box. It won, hitting me in the rib area... I'd like to say it only hurts when I laugh, but a cough hurts and God forbid a sneeze.
Taking a bruising in the early games are George with 5 mis-steps and 4 by Child of Light.
At the other end are Panzade (10-0). Region. Johnboy, Cowdoc, Fbeazer, El-diablo and Liontamerx at (9-1). Dragon and JPinmilw are at (8-2).

After the early games I was thinking, "Can Panzade be stopped?"
He was.
Through the late games, I have these players at 12-2: Region, Fbaezer, Cowdoc, El-diablo and Liontamerx. Dragon, Johnboy and Panzade are at 11-3. And then there is Jpinmilw at 10-4. But don't feel bad, because Child is at 8-6 and George is at 7-7.
Dragon could be the dark-horse, He/she is alone in picking Oakland over San Diego and Philly topping Seattle.
It looks like we will come down to the the tie-breaking score in the Monday night game, perhaps.

My, my. You are a chatty bunch.
So we have a five-way tie at the top. The score in the Monday night's game will decide it amongst the players at 13-2:
Region predictably predicts (27) total points; Fbaezer (49); Cowdoc (56);
El-diablo (41) and Liontamerx (45).
