Andy, one of my employees, follows the NFL much more closely than I do.
"Never," he said, "count Favre out."
"But he is old, hurt and his team sucks."
"True, but he plays to win. Never count him out."

Congrats to Dragon for being the only one of us to pick Green Bay over Atlanta.
Through the 12 day games, George is at 10-2 and Dragon, Fbaezer and Liontamerx are at 9-3. The rest of us skiffs are at 8-4 or 7-5.

Johnboy smiled when he noticed that Panzade made the same picks as I did. I had mentioned to Pan in a pm that, given the recent A2K technical problems, he should consider posting earlier than usual. He no doubt looked at my picks and said to himself "Johnboy is a genius." Or something like that.

Something like that :wink:

So George was a game ahead of Fbaezer and Liotamer and all three of them had the Steelers last night and Dallas tonight. So regardless of the outcome of the Pitts game, George would still be ahead. George also was one game ahead of Dragon, but Dragon had Cleveland and Philly.

When the Steelers won, any chance for Dragon to catch up was lost. George will be this week's winner at either 12-2 or 11-3. Well done.
Final stats for the week and Week 11 coming up tomorrow.

Week 10: As a group we didn't do as well as we did in Week 9. There was a fine individual performance by George who came in at 12-2. At
11-3 were Fbaezer and Liontamerx. The dynamic picking duo of Johnboy and Panzade limped in at 10-4. Dragon faded at the end to finish at 9-5, joining Region, Child of Light and Cowdoc. And Jpinmilw, after winning Week 9, stumbled to 8-6. His choices weren't bad; he just made a lot of bad choices.

In the cumulative wins minus losses tally for the season:
Cowdoc, despite a less than stellar week clings to the lead with 42;
Liontamerx continues to pile up points, now with 40;
Panzade is at 39, Sure, he missed two weeks, but it's not like the hurricane was our fault;
Region, Johnboy and Child lurk behind at 36, each hoping for a break-through week;
Gus is at 34. He hasn't played for a couple of weeks. We hope he will back soon;
George takes a nice jump up to 28;
Dragon creeps up to 24;
Fbaezer is making a bit of a move, getting up to 22 in just 3 weeks;
El-diablo, who has missed a couple of weeks, is at 18;
Jpinmilw dint't have a good week and he is at 12;
Ray, gone this week, is at 8.

Our 8th different winner in 10 weeks.
Week 11 coming up in a bit.
Thanks for playing. Speaking of which, if any of yall happen to have any experience at playing quarterback, there seem to be several job opportunities in the NFL.

Here comes the schedule for Week 11. The bye weeks seem to be over. So we all have to pick 16 games this week plus, of course, the number of points in the last game. An * indicates a conference game. And please notice the editor's comment at the end re Week 12. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

1 pm games Nov 20:
*Philadelphia (4-5 for the season) @ *NY Giants (6-3)
*Arizona (2-7) @ *St Louis (4-5)
New Orleans (2-7) @ New England (5-4)
Oakland (3-6) @ Washington (5-4)
*Jacksonville (6-3) @ *Tennessee (2-7)
*Tampa Bay (6-3) @ *Atlanta (6-3)
Carolina (7-2) @ Chicago (6-3)
Indianapolis (9-0) @ Cincinnati (7-2)
Miami (3-6) @ Cleveland (3-6)
Detroit (4-5) @ Dallas (6-3)
4 pm games:
*Seattle (7-2) @ *San Francisco (2-7)
Buffalo (4-5) @ San Diego (5-4)
*Pittsburgh (7-2) @ *Baltimore (2-7)
NY Jets (2-7) @ Denver (7-2)
8 pm game:
Kansas City (5-4) @ Houston (1-8)
Monday night:
*Minnesota (4-5) @ *Green Bay (2-7)

16 games + the number of points in the Minn/GB game.

A Note From Johnboy: Week 11 is a typical week. But Week 12 is Thanksgiving week with two games scheduled for Thursday, Nov 24. My plan is to put up the schedule for Week 12 sometime on Sunday, Nov 20th, rather than on the following Tuesday. The deadline for picks will be when Atlanta and Detroit kick off on Thanksgiving Day at around 12:30 pm ET. I hope that this will allow yall to pick before you go off to Gramma's house. Thanks.

Indeed, Region. What is your pick? I am so tempted to go with Cincy; so tempted. Is Cincy a domed stadium? If not, what is the weather supposed to be like in Ohio this weekend? Indy will fold, me thinks, once they get outside in the winter.
Damn, I thought this week looked easy but I have 5 games I am unsure of.

Great to have you back El-diablo. You left out a pick in the Buffalo @ San Diego game. Your choice there would be:

I have decided to bow out of the football competition if order for the rest of you to have a chance. I feel as if I am the Indianapolis Colts of this thread, rolling along in a freight train fashion, while the rest of you are huffing and puffing on the tracks, trying to keep up, but realizing deep down inside that you are destined for a season of mediocrity.

It starts out as just one guy in the upper deck, standing and screaming and waving his arms furiously. He seems to be yelling "wimpus." At first, no one other than the guy in front him notices. But the chant spreads faster than a flu virus in a nursing home, to the left and right. By the time the security guards get there, it is too late. The yelling has spread over the rail and into the lower deck and soon is coming out of the mouths of 50,000 fans: "Wimp! Gus!"
"Wimp! Gus!"
The referee stops play. The players stare at each other in total bewilderment as the crowd cries "Wimp! Gus!"

(yes, gus, "johnny boy" is a good ole boy. but you can't leave without a bit of verbal thrashing).
