Georgia National Bank and...
You're not disqualified. The commitee met and decided that due to heavy internet traffic your picks were unduly delayed.

and, no, Gus your sell-pitying pm to johnboy had no influence on the committee's decision. Nor did the offer of capybaras loins (please do not send any to johnboy; I just became a vegetarian. Moments ago. Please send mine to pan). As I recall from when I turned on the tv last, the games usually start after a bunch of commericials and, perhaps, if it doesn't interfere with another commercial, someone slaughtering the National Anthem
Coming up after this commercial break, the Deviant of the Week. Stay tuned.

Another big range this week in the Deviant Poll. At the low end are pan (3), lion (4) and dragon (6). In the mid range (from 9-14) are fbaezer, johnboy, george, cowdoc and gus. Ray (17), el-diablo and jpinmilw (19) are a bit higher. And then...and then, there is region (26) and child (28).

Is child a one-hit wonder? Can region regain his stride? Back around 4:15 pm. Stay tuned.

Out came my green highlighter (good) and out came my red one (bad) after the early games. We are not doing very well, folks. Region is fine at 6-2 and ray and cowdoc are okay at 5-3. But it gets bad after that. I could note that child is at 3-5 and fbaezer is at 2-6, but I won't.
May we all do better in the late games.

A lazy day in Virginia. Drizzle. Did the A2K NFL duty before 1 pm. Took a nap. Played a couple of on-line scrabble games. Picked up Turkey, my 39th country. Took a nap.

So we are not doing real well, me thinks. 12 games down and here is where we are:
at 8-4 are region, ray and cowdoc
at 7-5 are panzade, el-diablo, child and lion
at 6-6 are dragon, johnboy and el-diablo
at 5-7 is jpinmilw
and at 4-8 are fbaezer and george

Oops. I had el-diablo listed twice and missed gus. A little bit of columnar malfunction.
gus is at 7-5; el-diablo at 6-6. I think this is now right. I hope I didn't bruise your fragile ego, gus, by leaving you out. I would hate to be blamed for warping your life.

By my calculation, you are not quite in the running, pan. I have cowdow as being in the strongest position, I guess, going into tonight's game:

cowdoc (9-4) picks SD. If Pitt wins he will be 9-5 and in a tie with some others He has (51 pts in the tiebreaker) If SD wins he will win the week outright at 10-4.
region, ray and gus are at 8-5 and all have Ptt. So if Pitt wins, they will join cowdoc at 9-5. region has the usual (27 pts) in the tiebreaker; ray (37) and gus (oops, 37) also. If one of them would like to change in order to try to win outright, fine. If not, the rest of us won't regard it as wimpy.
Child is in a bit of a box at 8-5 but choosing SD. If Pitt wins, that goes to 8-6 and out of the running. If SD wins, a very respectable 9-5 but not good enough to catch cowdoc.
The rest of us are relegated to various degrees of mediocrity. This is the closest weekly finish since I've been running it. Good luck.
