So cowdoc, as we await panzade's late night early morning meetings with his bookies in Las Vegas, I have to ask: what does one do in Boise for a week?

Boise is a happening town, Johnny. There's that one nightclub that stays open until 10:00, and the Grabonski's Bowling Emporium is always rocking.

In truth, Boise doesn't have a convention center that will host a decent-sized meeting. The Idaho Assn. of Counties held its annual conference at the Riverside Doubletree. No matter where they're held, though, meetings are a general pain in the butt. Got through another series of them alive, so I guess I can't complain too much.

I'm going to try a little experiment and pick some real deviant picks this week and I've got a strategy behind it so let's see if it pays off

Sure enough, el-diablo comes in with a Deviant rating of (42), but in the same territory are ray (32), region (28) and, at (24), cowdoc, bbaptiste and the child. More in the moderate camp are gus (18), fbeazer and george (16) and lion (14).
And then, unlike the folks above and that wild and wacky bunch from the Idaho Association of Counties, we find jpinmilw (8), johnboy (4), panzade (2) and dragon driving right down the middle of the road (0).

(disclaimer: as mentioned before-and not to be mentioned again unless there are new players-a high score or a low score is neither good nor bad but is merely indicative of how far away from-or close to-a player's picks are from the group's consensus). Good luck yall.

The early games are over, and many of us are okay. But panzade had a very good start.
The problem that I have with the Steeler's Ben Unspellable Last Name is that he is not a rookie anymore. The other teams now know him. Is he a "one trick pony" or can he become a versatile veteran QB?

I am not at all comfortable with the news that panzade might be the shrewdest of the bunch.

What the hell sort of humans are represented on this thread?

well, I don't rightly know, region. Here in the south, we'd pull our pickup trucks into a circle in some field somewhere, headlights shining in. We'd drink a bunch of Pabst Blue Ribbons and there might be a whiff of "wacky weed." And then, the issue would be decided.
What are you asking about?

ouch. The NE--Pitts game hurt. Looking at the scorecard, panzade is still in good shape. I'm not sure anyone can catch him.
Gus, johnboy was trying to reply to the rhetorical question region asked about a tie. Tie as in an equally scored game. Not a tie, gus, that guys wear around their necks only at funerals.
I realize that there are two more games still to come in Week #3 but I am going to post Week #4 in a bit.
I will be able to wrap up Week #3 on Tuesday but...
(on a personal note, my siblings are coming back to Virginia as they do every year about this time. They second-guess the financial decisions I have made, they grouse about this and that, we go to the Aberdeen Barn for steak, and then they go home for a year. But this year my older brother is coming "home" for the last time. Terminal cancer. He might make it to Christmas. Might not. Anyway, this next week is going to be a rough one for johnboy, so yall are on your own to be sure you get your choices in. Perhaps we could have a guest host to keep things going)

I'll be glad to help jb, while you tend to familial duties.

I'm proud of Miami even though I didn't pick em. But Pittsburgh has burned me too many times. They broke my heart again...when is Ben gonna rise to the occasion?

belly-check simply won't allow the pates to lose 2 in a row.

why did pitt burn a timeout late in the 4th when the pates were driving?

was pitt trying to save a few seconds to run an extra play assuming the pates would score?

Seems to me that if the Giant's defense would just take a little more time in lifting their petticoats and moving out of the way of the Chargers offense, they might actually slow them down a little.

This is just painful to watch.
