WEEK #! SCHEDULE AND CALL FOR ENTRIES!!!

Here are the games yall need to predict. Note that the first game is Thursday, September 8th, so I need to get your selections prior to kick-off of that game. You can change your guesses at anytime prior to the first game (johnboy buys white-out by the 55-gallon drum).
The format is Visitor @ Home Team with last year's (regular season records).

Thursday Sept 8:
---New England (14-2) @ Oakland (5-11)
Sunday Sept 11 - Early Games:
---Minnesota (8-8) @ Tampa Bay (5-11)
---Miami (4-12) @ Denver (10-6)
---Pittsburgh (15-1) @ Tennessee (5-11)
---Washington (6-10) @ Chicago (5-11)
---New Orleans (8-8) @ Carolina (7-9)
---Jacksonville (9-7) @ Seattle (9-7)
---Buffalo (9-7) @ Houston (7-9)
---Cleveland (4-12) @ Cincinatti (8-8)
---Kansas City (7-9) @ NY Jets (10-6)
Sunday Sept 11 - Late Games:
---Detroit (6-10) @ Green Bay (10-6)
---San Diego (12-4) @ Dallas (6-10)
---San Francisco (2-14) @ St Louis (8-8)
---NY Giants (6-10) @ Arizona (6-10)
Sunday Sept 11 - Night Game:
---Baltimore (9-7) @ Indianapolis (12-4)
Monday Sept 12:
---Atlanta (11-5) @ Philadelphia (13-3)

16 games in all. The information I need in your public post is the winner of each of the games plus the total number of points that you think will be scored in the Monday night game. So the format of your post could be as simple as: "NE, MN ....PHIL (35). I do ask that you check over your list to be sure that you have made a selection in each game and have indicated how many points the two teams combined will score in the tiebreaker. Then hit submit.

Thanks for playing. New players are certainly welcome to participate.
Good luck to everyone - johnboy.

And I did want to mention this. After the regular season last year (the records in parentheses) here is what happened in the Playoffs:
---St Louis beat Seattle but got whipped by Atlanta
---NY Jets got by San Diego but lost to Pittsburgh
---Indianapolis romped over Denver but got burnt by New England
---Minnesota hurt Green Bay but fell to Philadelphia
And then:
---Philadelphia did in Atlanta
---New England nailed Pittsburgh
Finally:
---New England put away Philadelphia in the Super Bowl

(I don't know if that helps but notice that that I didn't use any verb more than once. johnboy is pumped up. Let the season begin).

rjb...I know this is a big load on you...but

Could we have 3 Jockstrap awards? I'll help with the chores

1) The Seer-Everyone picks Super Bowl winner
A total of 3 teams, ranked in order...for tie situation.

2)Regular Season Award-You get a point for each week you win= includes play off games

3) Super Bowl-self explanatory

pan: I certainly have no problem with any addition/modification to the game that you think might be amusing. I am not sure what your three proposals would require folks to do but I am confident that you know what you're talking about.
I wrote a paragraph a page or two ago explaing how the game as currently structured works. I reckon what you would have to do is add to that a paragraph explaining what is involved in the other games you are introducing.
I actually thought about the 1 point per correct pick accumulating through the season. I tossed it out for two reasons: (1) Some of the folks who have indicated an interest in playing claim to be only mildly if at all NFL fans (hence my comments about making picks based on who is the home team or who has the better record). I didn't want to make it too complicated for those people; (2) In the same vein some folks will wander in and out, playing some weeks, forgetting to play others. And some may not even join us until mid-season. I didn't want them to feel that they were not welcome to play unless they were committed to it from the git-go. But with a dozen or more players signed up for this year, there could be a core group that would find the notion amusing.
The first game is a week from Thursday and this is Labor Day weekend coming up. I was planning on reminding folks this Thursday of the games and to begin nagging on Tuesday after Labor Day.
Thanks. -johnboy-

So great to see the official opening of the season heralded by your post.
In order to get some publicity for a side wager on the Super Bowl I'm gonna start a thread. However it will be linked to our pool.

So I have heard from Region Philbis and dragon19. Time now for the rest of yall to jump in.
As for rjb, I am going with these choices:
NE, MN, De, Pt, Ch, CA, Ja, Bu, Ci, NYJ, GB, SD, SL, NYG, In, At (38).

I edited the schedule to correct the game betwixt Carolina and New Orleans. I originally said that is was @ NO. Wrong. It was always scheduled as a home game for Carolina. Sorry. What happens to the rest of the NO schedule is, I guess, up in the air. The San Antonio Saints?
