As I've said before, I am very sorry about the loss of life. But it grieves me to say this: I would have been more upset had Bush not destroyed my faith in America.
Well, blaming this on Bush is misplaced ... it was obviously a failure of The Left Wing ... read that however you will.

CNN.com is reporting that remains of all seven Columbia astronauts have been found...
i guess the left wing didn't have the right stuff

What does the death of seven brave souls to do with Bush? Your logic escapes me. No, it saddens me.
au
Thats a fair question. It saddens me too. I can't give a full answer. Lets just say that under Bush America has been a big disappointment. I don't seem to care about America as much as I used to. I'm sorry at the loss of life of course, I was a terrible accident. But will it give Mr Bush pause for thought before unleashing more death and destruction in Iraq? (A rhetorical question)
Steve
I am afraid that nothing will dissuade Bush from his course of action. He will order the invasion of Iraq and his buddy Blair will be right by his side.
Yes he will, and as a member of the Labour party, I have a problem with that. But in reality I wonder how much freedom Blair has. In my opinion this country subbordinated its foreign policy to America's on 14th August 1941 when Roosevelt and Churchill issued the Atlantic Charter. Except for Harold Wilson's refusal to commit British troops to Vietnam, I can't think of a single instance (but I hope someone can provide examples) when Britain has not done as America wished. We didn't even protest when you invaded Grenada, and Ronald Reagan forgot to inform Her Majesty's Government about what was going to happen to a member of Her Majesty's Commonwealth.
Off thread sorry.
Back to shuttle disasters...
Seems it all boils down to saving money and ensuring regular shuttle flights. No wonder so many people are angry. I thought those lessons were learnt after Challenger.
Steve :
Couldn,t help but notice how subtly the paper managed to slip in anti Israeli propaganda. War criminal Sharon indeed.
The source certainly opens itself to criticism as "Tabloid, Sensationalist, Agenda-Driven Quasi-Journalism"
Of course, such finds a ready and uncritical market.

au
yeah I noticed that as well. Perhaps its because Sharon is an indicted war criminal.
Steve, there are some who would question the impartiality and accuracy of The Larouche Foundation as well. I'm confident that if there is indeed anything to the wing-crack allegation it will not escape serious scrutiny. If the photo and assertion appear in more staid, less partisan media, the matter will gain some credence.
Untill then ... well, .... 'nuff said.

From another wonderful piece of journalistic excellence. Will I next be reading links from the Aryan Nation news or possibly the Iraqi journal?
LaRouche: undoubtedly insane. But not always wrong. And Jeffrey Steinberg is not wrong about Sharon imo.
Indy media. What possible interest would they have in faking a picture of a wing with a tear in it? Ok so its faked. I've seen similar pictures elsewhere, I suppose nasa bbc etc are all part of the ever so devious and subtle conspiracy.

Oh, revenue enhancement through increased readership could play a part. Just maybe. I imagine soon we'll see a photograph of Satan's Face in the vapor trail/smoke plume. That sort of thing is always boffo at the Supermarket Checkout Tabloid Rack.

A fact is a fact, it doesn't matter if the source is Saddam Hussein or Ayrian weekly torturers digest.
You evaluate the evidence on its own merits and put it in context of it source. Dont you?
Or do you just say ok I'm not clever enough. Some sources are liars (because I dont agree) other sources are true (because I do agree)
