I understand that it is recommended that people with chronic medical conditions be vaccinated for the flu.

What is meant by a chronic medical condition and what does that have to do with susceptibility to the flu or the capacity to recover from the flu?

In the extreme, a person with AIDS has a higher risk of dying from complications of having the flu. So do people with immunodeficient(sp?) diseases, diabtetics, etc.

You body can be weakened by these diseases and therefore be less able to fight off the flu as well. Complications from the flu include pnuemonia (sp? I should read the dictionary) which can be fatal.
