I always got ll workd up with laminar flow. I like being relaxed in my life, So all my fluids move in a Darcy mode.
It was my research team that developed a first model applying soil carbon content to contaminant sorption kinetics at darcy flows . We got a medal for what seemed to me to be "common sense"
My impression is that most conceptual breakthroughs in science look like common sense .... after they are discovered or formulated. Congratulations.
I was an early breakthrough modeler in the numerical simulation of complex flows, but the really smart guys figured out it was of no benefit in complex, turbulent flows, and went on to develop chaos theories. ( It was a goddam meterorologist named Lorenz who started all that.
