@Robert Gentel,
Quote:I've long opposed the war and have characterized it as the worst thing that America has done in my lifetime.
If you feel like you've done enough, hair on you, Robert. But I don't believe you were even involved here. Are you still looking for the threads where others have made their brave stands?
Really, ask yourself, how much have you heard from how many anyones about this incredible evil?
I think that you were alive for at least Nicaragua, but there's no need to get out the balance to determine which was the more evil.
Quote:But what is decidedly different is that I don't go around like a rabid dog attacking both political peers and political opponents in conversations that aren't about this subject because despite how grave an issue that is it simply doesn't mean that every single conversation someone else wants to have should be hijacked by your obsession.
You're going to try to ride this worn out old pony 'til it drops, are you? I "attacked" the lying Asherman, who, one has to wonder why, is/was being mollycoddled.
I too, don't need any lectures from you on Iraq or my politics. I don't need any lectures from you about what lengths I should or shouldn't go to wake people up, to confront liars, those who defend mass murder and war criminals.
Quote:When you want to you get to talk about other things, but heavens forbid that anyone else get to talk about something other than your obsessions.
I would have had no presence on this thread had it not been for Asherman and his bald-face lies and then GW making light of them.
And I've tolerated a great deal of off thread incidents from a large number of people about my other "obsession", putting to rest the lies about language, many of which you actively participated in advancing in the peeves threads.
But to the present issue. It matters, Robert, it matters a lot. Things gradually get smoothed over, 100 thousand here, 3 million there, who gives a ****, "Welcome back, Asherman, please tell us some more lies".
I hope that you don't confuse "caring" with writing one thread and then letting sleeping dogs lie. I know it's a nuisance to have to confront realities that are plenty uncomfortable. How much of a nuisance do you think that this has been to the people of Iraq?
