And Jer. What happened to Jer? He's been gone forever. I like a man who likes commas.
I thought I saw a mezzie posting the other day...which was nice to see.
I also thought I saw a solitary post from hingehead, though maybe I'm not reading in the right places.
And colorbook's gone again!

I think fishin and Quinn keep in touch with Jer. He seems to be doing good, doing his chef-ing, keeping busy.

Glitterbag mostly hangs out at that other site which shall remain nameless but is HQ'd in Seattle.

I miss hinge a lot, too.
But I've all but given up on encouraging him to return here (in an on-going way).
... I've tried bribing him with $$$$, grovelling & pleading, outrageous flattery, etc, etc, etc ...
But, alas, all to no avail .....
Dammit!

And then there's Vincent, but he never posted here more than a few times...
Because of him, I still invert my plastic bags around veggies every few days to keep the little greenies longer in the fridge...

Sure, kinky, expecially with zucchini...
Vincent was quite the adventurous cook, heh; miss the guy.

I haven't seen Francis around in quite some time. I certainly hope he's ok.

about zucchini, or Vincent?
Vincent never really made the jump from Abuzz to A2k. He was one of the main posters on cooking threads on that older site and often described what sounded like fabulous meals, with lots of good ideas. As for adventure, I seem to remember some thread of his about how to cook various animals' testicles and assorted other delicacies.

about the bag trick? For the green stuff in the fridge?

Well, say you buy a bunch of parsley at the grocery store. Typically one tears off a bag from the rolls of thin plastic bags set handily near the veggie counters. Insert parsley in bag. Carry home and refrigerate. In a day or two, turn the bag inside out, so that the parsley is not just lying there in an increasingly wet bag interior. (Shake parsley before putting back into the now inverted bag.) It'll stay fresh longer.
(I've been known to set the bunch if parsley in a cup of water, like a bunch of flowers, and that works with curley parsley sometimes.. have also gotten basil to survive that way. But then again, sometimes not.)

wow.
no wonder my greenie bill is so damn high.
I have thought ( insert really embarassed face here) that putting a small amount of water IN the bag before putting it in the fridge helped it to stay healthy.
Sort of the lazy mans way of putting it in a cup of water.

Sometimes I wrap greens in a damp clean tea towel or cotton bag before I put it in a plastic bag. If the cotton's damp it won't draw moisture from the greens but any excess moisture will be absorbed and the greens won't get slimy.
