Well, while you are sullen, Stills, which I get, your avatar is wonderful.

Please - not 'sullen', how's about 'reticent'?

Avatar not quite up to scratch. I had snipped out a bit of Pangong Lake the highest fresh lake in the world:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f4/Pangong_lake_by_martinl.jpg/180px-Pangong_lake_by_martinl.jpg

As always I couldn't remember if the A2K avatar was 100 pixels wide or 100 pixels high. Picked the wrong size and had to rotate the image on the fly.

The lake is now on its side - if it spills out and soaks your carpet, don't say I didn't warn you!

i think it will take @ 67x100 --

Ah, it would be nice to use the *whole* lake - I have just taken a bit from the foreground (90x100 pixels) and hacked away at the colours till I could get it down to less than the 6k required (they make it so damn hard, don't they?).

The actual image is from Wikipedia and somewhat larger:

If you are thinking 'How beautiful and how blue" - this would indicate that this is a VERY cold place with no oxygen in the water and no life at all. It sits about 4.5kms high (14,ooo feet), the Wikipedia entry says:

Quote:
The brackish water of the lake is devoid of any micro-vegetation

It also remarks that:

supports a number of species of wildlife including the Wild Ass.

And how IS my old friend Gus these days?!

Greetings also to Ms Olga of Melbourne!

Surprised
How nice!

Greetings right back to Mr Stillwater of Sydney!

I think your lake is beautiful, despite it being a "VERY cold place with no oxygen in the water and no life at all". Give it time. It looks quite serene to me.

Very cold - no oxygen - no life.......

You may not realise, but Melbourne fits the bill! No?!

Heh, heh!

Sorry, but the 'Melbourne, Bagging On-line (By NSW Folk) Act 147 of 2003' requires this - it is not like I would do this for fun, now - would I? <bats eyes with wide innocent look>

Ditto! Wot Stilly said!

We're normally such charming people here in Sydney, warm and fuzzy, caring and sharing - and especially law-abiding! Otherwise, we'd never, ever, say those things about Melbourne! And don't start us on Adelaide..... <mumble, mumble!!>

Mr Stillwater and Margo - You seem to be handling the situation quite ably, but if you feel the need for back-up, give us a hoy! And make sure your shots are up to date, I suspect Bunny O'Hare and the Catnip Kid are loading their water pistols from the Yarra! Laughing Laughing
